I've had a similar feeling lately. We have to remain vigilant and ensure this rise in nationalism doesn't devolve into something more destructive. There's also been a noticeable rise in anti-immigrant rhetoric here lately, and I worry about the consequences if these sentiments become more unified.

Allowing O'Leary to repeat blatant and easily-fact checked lies was just...shocking. How could @ianhanomansing.bsky.social allow him to claim that the Canadian dollar has lost 40% of its value under Trudeau? It would have taken 10s to Google that and call him out on an obvious lie.

What drove home for me why this show never should have happened was the Cdn trans person who choked up saying that their *existence* depends on freedom from an authoritarian US government.

We DO NOT have national call-in shows where someone’s existence becomes part of a debatable issue.
