That’s a wrap on the Access Link meetings on the proposed advance reservation window change.

I’ll review customer comments, concerns, & metrics, along with practices at other large paratransit authorities, before sharing my feedback with the Board at the next Committee meeting.

Today was the first Access Link meeting to gather feedback on the proposed change to the advance reservation window.

Thank you to all Access Link customers who attended & shared feedback on the proposal.

Meetings will take place tomorrow in Central Jersey & Friday in South Jersey.

I’ll admit, I tried it myself and I was not too good... Kudos to the engineers (and all the transit employees out there) — this work is anything but easy.

Following concerns raised at the last Board Meeting, the Access Link team confirmed they were already updating the new Transit vehicles to:

▶️improve accessibility
▶️add more walkway space
▶️remove tripping hazards

They recently showed the revised layout & I’m confident it will address the concerns.

⚠️🚆 Hey NJ TRANSIT Morris & Essex and Montclair riders —

Your trains will continue to originate and terminate at Hoboken Terminal through the end of service today. Please expect delays due to congestion.

Repairs on the switch are ongoing, and we expect regular service to resume tomorrow.

In October, our operational teams and I met with bus & rail customers at 30th Street Station in Philadelphia.

We gathered valuable feedback and are exploring ways to improve assistance and communication during unplanned disruptions. More details at the next Operations & CS committee meeting.

🔔 Due to a Cloudflare-related issue, parts of NJ TRANSIT’s digital services — including njtransit.com & the Mobile App — may be temporarily unavailable or slow to load.

NJ TRANSIT teams are monitoring the situation closely and will restore full functionality as soon as Cloudflare implements a fix.

One major positive news came out of the Board meeting last night: As part of its fleet modernization effort, and after the order of 374 new rail cars, NJ TRANSIT Board of Directors authorized $917 million to overhaul its existing fleet of 429 Multilevel railcars.

Was on the Atlantic City Line this morning — lots of leaves on the roads & tracks in green rural areas. After the rough service some experienced yesterday, especially on the M&E, a reminder that slippery rail is a common issue across the Northeast & beyond.

🚍👂Hudson County heard rider feedback about boarding at bus stops affected by the new bike lane along River Rd.

They’ll make adjustments to ensure riders can board safely & accessibly. I’ll share photos of the new layout soon!
