yeah exactly. like the part that bothers me is, if you have $200k income and your landlord kicks you out... you will be able to rent almost any apartment you want within a week or two of looking. maybe you cannot afford a standalone house. but you could afford many other types of housing.

this headline is so misleading though.... she started crying after she moved to some random town where she didn't know anyone because she missed her life in Toronto. I don't feel empathy for someone with a $200k income period. it's not true that it can't work on that income.

I am really sorry that you cannot get the help you need. I hope you can find some way to take a bit of time away in the coming year and that you eventually can recover a bit. taking care of her parents and husband as they all died over the last 3 years has wrecked my mom and now it's my turn :(

maybe sometimes people are just having A Moment when they come across something and they want to let off steam for a minute about how it made them feel and maybe that is ok

also I hired my regular NYC movers to take all the stuff from my apartment to the cube in bushwick and pack it up for me, and then hired other movers to unpack the cube at the other end. this worked really well for me and was significantly cheaper than any other option.

just in case this helps at all... when I did this same move in 2022, I used u-pack. they allowed me to pack the cube at their warehouse in bushwick (since no driveway in brooklyn) and the cost was less than half this. (could be more now I suppose but might still be more palatable)

I would also consider subbing one of these out for capping public transit fares across Ontario and/or major safety reforms for drivers

how are you going to bring this energy to ontario?? it is so desperately needed here and was completely absent in the last election.

LOL you should google the notwithstanding clause. that'll give you a good sense of how (un)likely federal intervention would be.

this past week was the only week in nearly 39 years on the planet that I ever gave a shit about baseball, and simply put, it was a huge mistake and I should have never doubted my instincts.
