Maybe machines and AI will do the hard lifting but taxes are required to maintain the social system, including pensions. Machines don't pay taxes. So either workers have to pay more or retire later to keep the pension system operating.

Found a Victorian bloke called Ai.

Obviously years ahead of his time?

In addition, how did Trump manage to get his "Armada" (presumably meaning ships) into Colombia, Guyanne and Brazil to "completely surround the country"?
December 17, 2025 at 8:58 AM
Why is no-one asking these Trump supporters to explain how, as the BBC is a publicly funded body, they support Trump, in reality, suing British people to put money into his own personal bank account.

If Trump wins, the license payers' money will go to Trump.
December 16, 2025 at 11:40 AM
And I, as a license-payer, will be most annoyed to see my money going into Trump's personal bank account.
December 16, 2025 at 11:35 AM
This has to be emphasised.

Millions of Brits will, if he is successful, end up having the money they paid to watch (insert whatever BBC programme you enjoy) going into his personal bank account.

And what will viewers get from their money if the BBC goes bust?
December 16, 2025 at 10:16 AM
Not as far as I can see. They appear to be a thousand million in each country.
December 16, 2025 at 10:10 AM
It will be interesting to see his UK sycophants try to sell the idea that he wants over 40 million Brits to each give him £175 to assuage his upset feelings@
December 16, 2025 at 9:07 AM
To get it in perspective, assuming his $10 billion equates to £7000 million, if my maths are correct, over 40 million British viewers' license fees would be required to assuage his wounded feelings.

Let's see his UK sycophants sell that to the UK public

But think of being able to prance around in all the inherited baubles
December 14, 2025 at 3:01 PM
But the fundamental situation remains. If a country fails to use all its resources, including workers, to their fullest degree, the economy loses out.
December 14, 2025 at 12:49 PM
And the other side of this crazy situation is that charging students for education means that some students, who may go on the help the country immeasurably, are deterred from fulfilling their potential and the country loses out both economically and socially.
December 14, 2025 at 9:16 AM
So a double benefit.
December 12, 2025 at 9:57 PM
In the UK, we, if over a certain age, get vaccinations (and prescriptions, etc.) free.

Take it from me, given the experiences of someone know with shingles, if the vaccine is there and at a reasonable price, have it.
December 12, 2025 at 3:22 PM
Another vaccine that is well worth considering, based on experiences here in the UK is shingles.

We can get it on the NHS and, given the experiences of people that I know, is worth serious consideration.

Horrible disease!

And that's before overseas fans have to go through all the Trump-immigration fiascos.

If you hold your nerve, they will be paying the fans to attend matches closer to kick-off.

And yet, strangely, the ones who object to these facts are also the ones that were criticising the removal of the two-child benefits' limit.

They want parents to have more children but don't want to offer them more support.

Not everyone can be Boris Johnson!

Looks like an Escort agency to me. (Boom boom!)
December 12, 2025 at 9:11 AM
And how many people, and how much will it cost American taxpayers, to collate and collect all this information, even with a probable drop in tourist numbers?
And how long, per application for approval/denial?
And will applicants be charged a fee for all this pfaff?
December 12, 2025 at 9:02 AM
Still a lot of doggy pictures to wade through.
December 10, 2025 at 6:45 PM
Billions of pages of cat/dog photos, recipes, holiday snaps, etc. to wade through.

All in different languages.

Book now for your Olympics trip and you may get your clearance in time.
December 10, 2025 at 3:01 PM
And how long would these checks take per traveller, given that there would be millions of tourists/travellers involved, speaking numerous different languages?

And what would this measure, which will inevitably reduce travel to the US, actually cost in overheads and personnel?
