On the plus side, Either/Orchestra played their first concert in years earlier this month and just released a live concert of Ethiopian material (ethiopiquesseries.bandcamp.com/album/nalban...).

Any day that I learn about a Scott Lafaro record I don't have is a good one. Thanks for posting. I had a nice haul today at Papa Jazz Record Shoppe too.

I had no idea he was from there (and I grew up about an hour away). A few years ago I became aware of some nice live recordings on HighNote thanks to my table mate at a Dave Holland show at Smoke. He produced at them.

I hadn’t thought about the ODMP in ages. I used to work with the guy who started it right around when he started it. Oddly, the son of an officer that inspired the site also worked there.

Good timing, as I was looking for something new to read and was not familiar him. I wasn't able to check out Crooks but I was able to get the Long and Faraway Gone and quite like it so far.

I was jogging in Falls Church over the weekend and a hawk flew above me and landed in a tree in front of me. As I rounded a corner next to the tree, I pointed out the hawk to a girl walking small dog. She replied, "that hawk ate one of my squirrels."
