Tonight's meeting is drawing a lot of people to perhaps comment on the proposed after-hours alcohol code that drew ire since it was introduced last month. Council Chair Wharton confirms the vote on it has been postponed, noting there's "work to do" on it #SLC

Some historic building news: SLC Council just voted to add the century-old Altadena and Sampson buildings (by 3rd East & 3rd South) to the local landmark list. That adds protections that the national register doesn't provide

SLC got more rain this past weekend than the last 4 months combined, after ending the past water year (which ended last week) nearly 5 inches below normal.

Here's a look at that + what happened on the rainiest day in city history, 124 years ago:

Lake's southern arm currently sits at 4,191.2 feet, less than 3 feet from its all-time low. Salinity (120-122 grams per liter) has also gone up as the lake shrinks, but still much lower than the peak of 185 in 2022

New: Utah House just voted to approve a bill allowing UFFSL to raise the GSL berm to 4,192 ft (2 feet higher than current requirement) to handle salinity challenges of the lake in today's special session. Heads to the Senate next before going to Gov. Cox's desk #utpol

Up to 2.47 inches, the second wettest day ever in SLC according to this link. Its also shifted to a northwest flow over the great salt lake. If lake effect kicks in, that record is in serious jeopardy. home.chpc.utah.edu/~u0790486/wx...
