WTF @bostonglobe.com? I get that your point is that murder is bad but this framing is nonsense. This guy was big on demonizing! Whole classes of people. He maintained a website specifically to demonize individual college professors across the country.

Editorial. We need more Charlie Kirks. The conservative activist who was assassinated Wednesday could be bigoted, crude, and insulting. But he wasn't afraid of people who disagreed with him. The solution to the political violence that killed conservative activist Charlie Kirk on Wednesday is more people like Charlie Kirk. Whatever one thinks of his political views, Kirk was never shy about talking with, and listening to, people who disagreed with him. The ability — and willingness — to talk across political lines, to view your opponents as people to persuade, not merely to demonize, is what the country desperately needs right now.

Stupendously hypocritical tweet from Secretary of State Marco Rubio dated May 28, 2025 that states "For too long, Americans have been fined, harassed, and even charged by foreign authorities for exercising their free speech rights. More than two months after the Trump administration admitted it mistakenly deported Abrego Garcia from Maryland to his native El Salvador, a federal grand jury has indicted him for allegedly transporting undocumented migrants within the United States, ABC News has learned. A two-count indictment, which was filed under seal in federal court in Tennessee last month, alleges Abrego Garcia, 29, participated in a years-long conspiracy to haul undocumented migrants from Texas to the interior of the country, according to sources briefed on the indictment.

Local right-wing activist and blogger Josh Fulfer, 45, tried to suggest such camaraderie — while perhaps genuine in some cases — is spurred by fear of speaking out, citing the violence he recently encountered. Fulfer returned to the corner of Nees and Minewawa to continue protests on Saturday after his car window had been shattered the day prior by a counter-protester who wielded what appeared to be a pink-and-blue trans flag and was promptly arrested. Fulfer’s group of a dozen protesting Hernandez’s participation on Friday had grown by several Saturday but fell well short of the 50 to 60 he claimed he expected. A megaphone echoed the message, “No boys in girls’ sports,” for the first few hours of the meet.

The Dean of Georgetown Law is still waiting for Eagle Ed to approve their curriculum.
Your letter informs me that your office will deny our students and graduates government employment opportunities until you, as Interim United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, approve of our curriculum. Given the First Amendment’s protection of a university’s freedom to determine its own curriculum and how to deliver it, the constitutional violation behind this threat is clear, as is the attack on the University’s mission as a Jesuit and Catholic institution.

Three sources with knowledge of the situation who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly confirmed that Brown, the only Black member on the five-person board, had been removed. Board members received word of his dismissal via email early Tuesday. However, the reason for his removal is unclear. Brown, a Democrat whose term was set to expire next year, did not respond to requests for comment. The NTSB referred all calls to the White House, which confirmed Brown’s dismissal but did not give a reason.
