Just you know, if you want to actually try a poster's strike or something, because i dunno who needs to hear this but WELL ORCHESTRATED BOYCOTTS IN GROUPS ACTUALLY WORK.

@geomblog.bsky.social YESS! "Intimacy Machines" is officially my new fave oxymoron.

(tough competition what with "gender-neutral masculine standard" floating around out there)

(also wtf even is an h index and why oh why am i supposed to care about this? please catch me up on the past ten years of producing these bizarre, corporation-dependent valuation frameworks for quantifying "impact.")

Please have a look -- I've been busy, there's a lot there you probably didn't know about. Citing even one of these papers may help me balance out the personal cost of breaking my code of ethics, even if that really isn't how ethics works ...

Anyway i have some catching up to do. :(

Apparently not having a Google scholar page is the kiss of death for academic careers, so tonight was my first login to a Gsuite address in 8+ years to "claim" one.
I deeply resent that we have moved to this model for discoverability and relevance.

"The data showed that left-wing extremists have carried out 41 attacks since 2016, compared with 152 from the far right over the same period.
Left-wing violence has killed 13 people over the past decade — far fewer than the 112 deaths from right-wing attacks and 82 from jihadists."

This is an amazing graph. Isn't it showing that it's basically ALL not-left-wing terrorism? Except for this year when there's ~2 attacks? Yet the headline....?

Agh I had to teach today and am flying in right now, so I missed the panel this AM. But I want to hear all about it.

We should meet up in NJ sometime, Emma!

Maybe I'll see you at my "How to Get Off" Making and Doing session Thursday?

Since 2011 -- when in the wake of the financial crisis, the large technology companies became platforms and began using our data to feed us preferential content.
And that when I realized we were on the road to fascism and started to get off those toxic systems.
I have watched the world pitch since.
