On Switch 2's case, we have a custom chip made for Nintendo that doesn't have flaws (or at least not documented ones) and there aren't good upgrade nodes, as you'd move from Samsung's 8mn to TSMC.

No crisis nor opportunity to have a Switch 2 "Mariko."

I ain't bullish on a Switch 2 Lite.

The reason for the Switch 1 Lite was the chip being a stock Tetra X1, which was on an upgradable processing node and that had a hardware flaw. Those made Nintendo extremely eager to upgrade asap, and the existence of an upgrade node made it work.

That's what I meant. And that's why I usually dislike people who try to conflate it.

And that's without talking about "**I** don't like it, so it's anti-consumer" when other users do like it. Which is just on the same vibe as whenever I hear people say "you shouldn't like it because it is bad even though you have used it and I don't." Which makes my blood boil.

If we consider Nintendo not making 2D mode anti-consumer, what do we have to say when Amazon uses dark patterns to coerce users from unsubscribing? "It's anti-consumer, so users don't like it" isn't cutting it when talking about the latter.

That's where I'm coming from.

I mean, there is anti-consumer as in "consumers wanted some other thing," and anti-consumer as "infringing consumers rights or disturbing them." And it's the issue where if you want the second definition to be the one that is understood, you cannot be conflating it to the first one.

The thing is, as we've said time and again, Virtual Console, even though it was more pro-choice, was much worse for any games that weren't the big ones. To the point that, from some alleged discussions, it took a lot to Nintendo to onboard Sega again for NSO, and others didn't come around again.

For the same reason, you could call Facebook anti-consumer because their VR games don't work in 2D.

I.e, you should not use a tag like anti-consumer this haphazardly unless you want to devalue said tag.

It's as close a monopoly as you can have. At that range, regulators get on your skin. Now, if the US is unable to do that, that's their problem.

But when everyone launching on PC says you're either on Steam or you're out of business, it's not a competition.

En España parece que el plan es limitarlo a los 16 años, por si 15 no era lo bastante fácil...

I guess the weird thing is that Tenor gifs don't have the video controllers whereas custom images do.
