I think excercising your artistic right to be a bit pretentious and opinionated about weird silly sex stuff is a kind of joy in and of itself... like, it feels sort of cynical and almost life-denying to say it's just about getting off and making a cash-grab. where's that desire for exploration?
January 17, 2026 at 11:06 AM
RIGHT? like. yeah, ok, nobody is holding you at gun point and forcing you to think more about it but this kind of "lol it's not that deep bro" thing is like... well, idk, why *wouldn't* you have more curiosity towards a subject you find so compelling? why spend that energy defending ignorance?

like. this is a whole other talk. familial abuse is extremely common, sexual or not, and this is not a "meaningfully harmless" kink. you lot are vocal enough about it, don't use my words.

on the other hand, scat enjoyers are my siblings in weird digestive nonsense and I defend them to the grave

personally find it very hard to make these things scale correctly when sometimes I find the act of eating more sexually stimulating than actually engaging in sexual intercourse, hahaha

it feels like such a weird thing for everyone to fixate on so much... although I get why it can be helpful

oh absolutely. I think the problem with the spectrum is that first you have to define what sex is. and like. come to terms with how bio-essentialist it is to define it on terms of penetration, and how a lot of it is also informed by Christianity, virginity and morality.

I have a much higher degree of respect for someone who knows what they're about than I do for those who need to reiterate how gross they find something relatively harmless + doesn't meaningfully effect them. even more so when someone can still find value in a work without strictly having that fetish

I very much feel that sometimes there is a need to like, perform disgust towards fetishes you aren't into, outside of just criticism. Like you have to spell out you aren't into it when engaging with it in any capacity.

eg. scat will never be my thing, but it's pointless to pitch a fit about it

And I think I would have been a worse person for it. I might have just kept letting diet culture dictate what I'm allowed to be attracted to. I would've kept feeling awful about the GI disease I have.

there's a lot I never warmed to, but at least understand.

and then even if someone isn't doing that, that's what they take as inspiration, and they just make the same kind of thing. and the furry community does this whole rinse repeat cycle of cute trends and whatnot.

and it all just feels antithetical to what I found exciting about discovering weird porn

I want a challenge. I don't want to make peace with one very narrow niche.
January 17, 2026 at 3:52 AM
-to satisfy one specific niche, one specific community, one specific mindset... having this safer, easier option, jumping on the new art trends or re-treading the same played out scenarios, what reflection can you possibly demand from it?

No elaborate world-building can save you from that.

we can take easy answers and dismiss it as either purely escapism or something inherently pathological, or we can choose to take more matured perspectives on ourselves and potentially broaden our palettes a little more. There is no guaranteed understanding from a broader audience, but only creating-

this is kind of the inverse side of how those with more disturbingly taboo kinks will demand respect and contemplation... without giving much thought themselves to why they're making what they're making.

And it is a deeply personal thing, but if you so insist, you must also do the work.
January 17, 2026 at 3:52 AM
how much do you let catering to one specific niche be the decider of how you create? do you ever develop your ideas far from the children's media that gave you the fetish to begin with?

it's not a world-building question, it's an introspective practice. how much do you think about your attraction?
