My sister laughed at me for buying one of these things now that I'm pressure cooking frozen chickens breasts to create a supply of shredded chicken. But you know what? It cost less than 20 bucks and it was the best money I've spent lately.

I was just reading a story at the Law & Crime website, and when I glanced at the sidebar and saw the trending stories, it became one of those moments when I thought a killer asteroid might not be such a bad thing. Fair warning: most of the headlines are pretty damn triggering.

I grew up Catholic, but in my late 40s, I renounced not only Catholicism but also all organized religion for many reasons. I now waver between agnostic & atheist. Despite this, I still have a favorite Bible verse. One that evangelical white nationalists ignore & likely consider to be woke garbage.
