Aw, this brings back memories... I'm in my 20s, and when I was a kid, my school used to sell floppy disks with Microsoft programs on them, so we could install them at home. Those were the days.

I agree, toxicity isn't limited to fascists, but their organization is what makes them particularly exhausting. They flood platforms with slogans, lies, & misinfo, organize harassment campaigns, & bombard you with nonstop hate - then ridicule you when you leave, and follow you to the next platform.

That's one of the best things about Bluesky. The blocklists are absolutely amazing and help make it a lot easier to wipe the right-wing toxicity off of any page I visit 🥰💙

YES. Right-wingers' lack of empathy explains why engaging with them is so miserable. So many of them join Bluesky ONLY to troll, all while knowing many of us are marginalized and rightfully terrified of what lies ahead. Their behavior is not normal. It's antisocial & weird.

I absolutely loved your TikTok videos; I spread them to people who were on-the-fence or still touting the myth of "mutual abuse"/"both Amber and Depp were abusive towards each other." Whatever happened to your videos? I noticed a few months ago that they're inaccessible now :(

Exactly. It's bizarre that so many people could be that full of hatred and misanthropy, but I notice it almost exclusively with the far-right. They've tried to spread their misery and toxicity to BlueSky, too, trolling with the usual hate/misinfo. They're aggressive, hateful, and very weird people.

It really bothers me that people hold RFK up as some caring and brilliant guy who cares about the health of America. He's peddling downright dangerous lies about autism and autistic people. His beliefs have already hurt so many. He is extremely dangerous, but this is just scratching the surface.

I would give both a verbal and visual warning, with timestamps, just to be safe: "Just a warning that at 3:36 [or whatever timestamp it is], there will be flashing lights for 9 seconds [or however long], so in case you're sensitive to that, skip to 3:45." I don't think there's a way to overdo it :)

Twitter (I refuse to call it X) is just full of bots and creeps now. I didn't appreciate just how much it was destroying my mental health until I left and permanently moved here right after the election. This place is so much nicer.

Sure, but the right has been going mask-off since winning this election. They never wanted us to be able to defend ourselves. They're OK with men telling us "your body my choice." They think they own us.
