Diaz seems to have a history of great years interspersed with poor(er) years. We’ll see if he can put two stellar years together back to back.

In a perfect world, Jorge Polanco will hit a three-run homer scoring Bichette and Simiem off Edwin Diaz in the ninth inning of game seven of the NLCS. Then Devin Williams will come in and close the door, sending the Mets to the World Series.

Diaz had 3 really good years out of 7 total with the Mets. The Timmy trumpet thing bought him a lot of good will, I think.

I don't blame him for ring chasing. I blame him for the way he handled the whole thing. He can admit he wanted out instead of trying to play the victim.

The Mets treated him well, in good times and bad. They didn't deserve the knife in the back as he ran out the door.

They get 300 million plus from their tv deal alone, from the network they own, lol. They're printing money.

It also helps that they're a favored nation in MLB. I doubt any other team (except for perhaps the empire) would get away with the contract stuff they do.

Diaz is absolutely going to get booed. I hope they pass on the tribute video, but I'm sure he'll get one.

He has a team full of hired guns and ring chasers; they'll do whatever it takes to win. If you can get the players to buy in, it works. Winning back to back WS helps with the buy in part.

I can see Pete getting a standing ovation upon his return, and Diaz being booed out of the building.

Roberts will use the ball boy as a closer if it wins him a chip, he doesn’t care about feelings.

I respect that.

Alonso wanted to stay, and for whatever reason Stearns showed in 2 consecutive seasons he didn’t want Polar Bear.

Diaz is just a ring chaser, I can dig it, but don’t make some cockamamie story about feeling disrespected.

The lousy part of it is I’ve been to multiple games where fans were shouting at the top of their lungs, “BRING IN DIAZ.”

And the whole trumpet thing…we adored him.

Just don’t be a phony, he could’ve just said, I enjoyed my time there but felt it was time to move on.

Dodgers don't do the kid glove treatment with anyone but Ohtani. No divas.
February 15, 2026 at 6:20 PM
He STILL won't admit he wanted that hot chick, lol. I'm sure the chick in question doesn't care, but I hope they're prepared for 'they disrespected me' when he blows a few saves and they replace him.

Tacky af, Edwin. Man up.
February 15, 2026 at 6:13 PM
That whole bit about being 'disrespected' is especially insane. He'd already opted out,so technically he was no longer on the team. Even if he hadn't, were they supposed to get his approval about any free agents they signed ? Since when?
He tried to play victim, and LOL Mets. Didn't work this time.
February 15, 2026 at 6:11 PM
LOL. Here's hoping.🤞
February 15, 2026 at 4:23 PM
I think exactly the opposite. He knew where he wanted to go from the start, and he jumped on the opportunity to play the victim, knowing the press would jump on the LOL Mets stuff.
I just hope when he blows a couple of saves and the Dodgers pull him from the closer role, they check with him first.
February 15, 2026 at 4:15 PM
His story about what happened with the Mets is the dumbest bs I've heard in awhile.

Why can't he just admit he wanted out?
