Queenie Comics - Mmm... Pie!

Queenie is placing a pie with two carrots poking out down on her windowsill. The freshly baked smell begins to take to the air, and Queenie is looking at the fruits of her labor with anticipation.
Q: Baked carrot pie! Now we just need you to cool down!

In the second frame, Alice has just thrown a stick to the ground and is pointing at it attempting to give Kitty training directions. Kitty is looking and meowing at Alice in confusion. The smell from the pie is coming from off screen with visible carrots pocking the scent waves. Alice catches the first whiffs of the pie Queenie made.
A: Alright, Kitty. Now fetch!

In the third frame, Alice looks towards the viewer with a cartoonishly craven look on her face. She is visibly drooling and has two carrots for eyes. 6 small carrots surround her in imaginative excitement. Kitty is looking up at Alice, completely facing away from the stick now.
A: Wait! I'd recognize that smell anywhere! My favorite! Baked carrot pie!

In the fourth frame, Alice is visibly floating just like Queenie in the glasses episode. She is expressing pure bliss as she continues enjoying the smell of the freshly baked pie, completely oblivious to anything around her. She is hovering high enough to be at head level with the pie. Queenie is peeking through the window to humor Alice. Kitty is facepalming behind Alice.
Q: Bunbun, you know you can just come inside. It'll be ready soon!
A: ...huh?

Queenie Comics - Feel the Beat!

Queenie and Alice are dancing with two speakers on either side of them booming a bumpy and steady bass. Kitty is sitting on the left speaker with ear protection on enjoying the vibes.

In the second frame, the music picks up, as does the rumble of the bass, everything in the room is slightly distorted from the heaviness of the bass from the speakers.

In the third frame, the speakers are blasting so loudly Queenie and Alice are visibly distorting from the soundwaves. The bass is so powerful that Kitty is being launched slightly in the air by it.

In the fourth frame, Alice and Queenie are excitedly speaking to each other and are attempting to yell. Where their speech bubbles are large, the text is illegible and so tiny it can't be read. It's obvious Queenie and Alice are experiencing a bit of hearing damage from the loudness of the music. Kitty is unphased and is meowing along joyfully at her two silly owners.

I would have figured this was some kind of plan Alice would come up with, but Queenie's never really been in the position to really nurture something beyond her communing with the forest and animals. She usually leaves things where they are, but the flowers really are her babies and she cares.🌼🐐

Alice doesn't wear her glasses often, and there's a few reasons for it.

I had to use a backup comic today. I wrote a couple different ideas down but they've all become future backup comics... Timing the release of specific comics is an unusual but needed thing lol

Queenie Comics - Alice's Glasses

Alice is quietly typing away at her keyboard. Kitty is sleeping next to her. There is a small sheet of paper next to Alice's laptop. Alice is seen wearing her glasses for the first time.

In the second frame, Alice is scooting back in her chair. Kitty has noticed Alice getting up and is also getting up while humming a gentle 'mew' at Alice.

In the third panel, Alice is seen leaving her bedroom with Kitty. She is asking Queenie for some assistance.
A: Hey, Queenie could I get a second set of eyes on this?

In the fourth panel, Queenie is completely oblivious to anything Alice said, as she is completely enthralled by Alice wearing her glasses. Alice is pointing at the lovesick Queenie with a grumpy frown. Kitty is silently judging Queenie.
A: Hey! Did you even hear me?
Q: Mhmm...
A: Hey!
Q: Second set of... four eyes...
A: Stop floating!
Q: You're... mad when you're... pretty.

Queenie Comics - A Bet's a Bet!

Queenie and Alice are sitting on the couch playing a popular racing game. Kitty is sitting near them taking in the vibes.

In the first panel, Queenie is smirking at a frustrated Alice, who is comically flailing her feet while scowling cartoonishly towards the viewer. Kitty is letting out a small 'mew'.
A: [stammering] What- how- an orange peel!? No! How do you always beat me?
Q: Oh, Alice. You know why.

In the second panel, Alice has pulled her ears down and styled her hair to make herself look like Queenie. She also has oversized eyes to make fun of Queenie's cuteness. Alice is speaking as if though she were quoting something Queenie had said before, but has taken it completely out of context. Queenie has let out a small humoring snort.
A: "Oh, well I guess it's cause i'm just so lucky! Hee hee hee hee! I'm Queenie. I'm so humble and have a huge butt my partner likes to look at!"

In the third frame, Alice has crossed her arms and is pouting silently after throwing her mocking tantrum. Queenie nor Kitty's expressions have changed, basking in the silence of the moment.

In the fourth panel, Queenie says something sly to Alice, causing her to outburst in dramatic defeat. Kitty is meowing happily.
Q: You know, you still owe me a hoof massage, anyway!

Queenie Comics - Big Seedlings in a Small Pot! Part 1

Queenie is entering the front door with her singing flowers. She is greeting Alice and Kitty who are both happy to see Queenie and her flowers home. Queenie's flowers have a 1st place blue ribbon pinned on their flowering pot. Kitty is greeting Queenie with a happy meow and trot. Queenie's flowers are repeating her while singing. Alice's ears are perking in excitement to see Queenie.
Q: Alice! Kitty! We're back!
F: Alice, Kitty, we're back!
K: Meow
A: Hey, babe! How did the state fair go?

In the second panel, Queenie is scratching her head bashfully as she and Alice talk about the recent contest. Queenie seems a bit nervous and is stammering while she is speaking. Alice is sitting at the table with her laptop closed, Queenie has placed the flowers down on the table.
Q: Uh, good! We won, again.
A: Wow! That's great hon! That's like the sixth competition your flowers got best-in-show at! That's great, right?
Q: Uh- um, yeah! Uh, about that...

In the third panel, Queenie has leaned over towards a curious Alice and is whispering to her in a shady way.
Q: Truth is... the other contestants are starting to get mad at us for showing up... No one's ever seen flowers that can speak, nevermind ones that can sing. We win just by showing up! People are starting to recognize us!
Q: I was going to take a break from going to the shows, but I didn't have the heart to tell them yet.

In the fourth panel, Alice pushes back on Queenie's concerns and gestures towards Queenie's flowers. They are repeating some of Alice's words back in full song, one of the flowers even has a solo. Queenie looks receptive to Alice's interjection.
A: Aw, Queenie. You gotta let them sing, now! You can't just not take them, look how happy they are!
F: We're happy, we're singing for you!
Soloist: For you!!!
Q: You're right, Alice. I can't just keep them here. They're bigger than our little garden. I'll talk to my sweeties.
A: Good.

In this additional fifth panel, Alice has grabbed Queenie's hand in admiration and is looking at her sweetly while she compliments her partner. Queenie is bashfully scratching her head and laughing gently.
A: I love hearing you call them that. You really are their mom, aren't you?

Queenie Comics - A Wild Hair!

In the first panel, Sarah has approached Alice with a wild look on her face and is lunging towards Alice who is completely caught off guard.
S: Hey, Alice! Think Fast!
A: Sarah!

In the second panel, Alice anticipates the sneak attack at the last moment and slides away from her cousin in a quick blurring slide. Sarah lands quietly on her feet with two taps on the ends of her toes. Alice has now also engaged in the same blankly violent expression as Sarah.

In the third panel, Alice launches a counter attack, a full aerial lunge towards her assailant who has also raised her arms in bestial defense. The two are both hollering their personal war cries.

In the fourth panel, the intense battle between Alice and Sarah is muted as it is placed in the background. Alice has landed in a brutish 'Urgh' as Sarah evasively leaps out of Alice's grasp. She is audibly hissing at Alice. In the foreground, Brianne and Dani are casually talking about the situation behind them. Dani seems a bit confused, even by Brianne's simple, yet thoughtful explanation. Brianne is holding a copy of "The Buttress of Windsor" to also show to Dani.
D: Didn't you say you grew up with them? Why are they doing that?

Queenie and Alice are locking arms in a salutation to the end of their production. They are actresses for the comic, while living separate lives from it in the 'real world'. The director calls out, and the production team is clapping.
D: -and cut! That's a wrap! Great comic everyone!

In the second panel, Alice and Queenie are having their own conversation after the show. Alice turns to Queenie and asks her something.
A: Hey, Queenie. Have you smelled your breath, lately?

In the third panel, Queenie is frowning at Alice who is obliviously smiling. A sparkling, minty breeze is flowing from her mouth.
Q: What!?

In the fourth frame, Queenie leans forward and her head grows massive, her presence cold and undaunting despite the contrast to her, now, cartoonishly inflated features. She is scolding a shocked Alice who just realize the combination of words she just uttered to her partner.

Queenie and Alice are continuing their discussion. Things seem to have intensified as Alice is getting visibly upset.
A: Queenie, what are you saying?
Q: Oh, I just thought-

In the second panel, the camera focuses on Alice as she interrupts Queenie.
A: Right. You thought instead of trusting that maybe I just got distracted with my roleplaying friends.

In the third panel, the camera closes up on Alice. She is irate now.
A: I can't know something is wrong, if you don't tell me what's wrong!

In the fourth panel, the camera zooms out to show Queenie in the scene again who is rendered completely speechless by Alice's frustration.
A: How am I supposed to know what you need in this relationship if you don't tell me?
Q: I uh...

Queenie Comics - Queenie Might Be Jealous! Part 6

The intense conversation continues. Alice is expressing her hurt to Queenie who is listening closely.
A: Queenie, when we first moved in together, you and I were inseparable. And I know I was all over you for a while there. You were very patient with me, and I felt really bad for bugging you so much...

Alice is looking up at Queenie, now.
A: But, I promised you I would find something else to do besides whatever it was you were doing. Roleplaying is that thing, and I love doing it. I've got new friends, and we hang out all the time. This is new for me, and I really need this in my life, right now. You and I still spend plenty of time together at home.

In the third panel, Alice is confronting Queenie's misspeak with her own expression of hurt. Tears are visibly forming in her eyes, and both her and Queenie are flushed.
A: And the way what you're saying is making me feel is like you didn't actually want me to be into the game unless it's what you wanted to do...
A: ... or worse, that you didn't feel comfortable enough to be open with me about something that you're vulnerable about...
A: ... did you think I was going to judge you or something?

In the fourth panel, Alice has gotten through to Queenie, who is now tearing up in apology.
Q: No, I didn't- I- Oh, no! Alice! I'm so sorry...
Q: I really screwed up.

Queenie Comics - Queenie Might Be Jealous! Part 7

It's finally over, the air has been cleared of the issue in the worst way possible and now everyone is upset. Queenie expresses her regret immediately to an already hurt Alice.
Q: I got so caught up in the moment of everything. You're right. I didn't communicate what was going on with me and I didn't think to tell you. It's not an excuse, but I don't think I even knew to tell you. I'm still learning but I made a big mistake and I hurt you. (stuttering) I'll make it up to you. However I can!

Alice has heard Queenie and is now expressing her needs. The tears in her eyes are drying, and she has a blank expression on her face. She is clearly very hurt. Queenie is replying to her offscreen.
A: Queenie. I'm really upset about all this... It will be fine, eventually. But, I am going to need some time. I'm going to stay at Brianne's for a day or two, can you please remember to take out the trash?
Q: (stuttering) Of course, Alice. I understand. I'm sorry again... and yes. I'll take the trash out tonight...
A: I know you will...

In the third panel, Alice completes her statement as she and Kitty dismiss themselves from the living room for the night. Queenie is sitting on the couch with drying tears in her eyes, watching the two walk away.
A: ...and I know you are, Queenie.

In the fourth frame, Alice has shut the door to her room with a gentle click. Queenie has buried her head in her hands in despair and total defeat.
Q: ...shit...

Queenie Comics - I'm Hungry...

Queenie is sitting in the middle of space, completely hallucinating food. She has a blank expression but is smiling like she's a bit delusional.

In the first panel, There is a burger, and another burger that is assembling floating around her. Kitty is meowing at her curiously, except she is now a burger, too. A kitty burger, with ears, kitty paws, and a tail.
Q: Sandwich... Yummy Sammich
Q: Tasty Sammich...
K: Meow?

In the second panel, 5 glazed wings dripping with sauce are hovering over Queenie's head. This has excited kitty, as she is howling at the wings with stars in her eyes.
Q: Glazed wings drenched in a sweet and tangy sauce
Q: O... so crispy
Q: O... so savory
Q: O... so saucy! (emphasis on the word saucy)

In the third frame, Queenie has stopped imagining food and has tilted her head to look at her stomach, her eyes are still continuing to stare blankly, completely unfocused. She is still smiling. Kitty is looking down at Queenie's stomach too. It's grumbling and gurgling loud enough to stop everything.

In the fourth frame, Queenie has immediately returned to hallucinating food, and has upped the ante. She is now imagining a massive spinach, mushroom, tomato pizza hovering over her head like an aircraft. Kitty has reached her limit of concern and is reaching out to gently give Queenie a Kitty paw.

Q: Damn, this kinda sucks!

In the second panel Queenie has stopped walking to yell at the sky.
Q: What the heck did I do wrong?

In the third panel, she keeps walking for a moment as she ponders.
Q: Unless... what if she's getting back at me for asking her to sleep in our own beds at night?

In the fourth panel, Queenie stops in her tracks, staring forward into space. She comes to her conclusion.
Q: That's gotta be it!

Queenie Comics - Your Outift

Queenie and Carmen are at the very end of whatever their previous conversation was. Queenie is laughing at Carmen's conclusion.
C: ...so that's why it looks like that.
Q: That's funny, they're so lumpy!
C: I know! That's what I said!

In the second panel, Queenie has changed the subject and is asking Carmen something.
Q: Say, Carm. I've been meaning to ask you this. Why do you always wear swim trunks?

In the third panel, Carmen has transcended to her true anime form, the jojo pose. She is laughing in Japanese, as her patriotic swim trunks glimmer and sparkle. Behind Carmen, beaming rays of presentation shine behind her, bringing emphasis to her high-fidelity moment. A large lensflare is forming from the prideful gleam in her eye. In the bottom left corner, a bewildered Queenie responds to Carmen's grand inquiry.
C: Haha! Isn't it obvious?
Q: Uh, not exactly...

In the fourth panel, the scene has returned to its original mundane state in an anti-climactic fashion. Carmen is now casually answering Queenie, who seems satisfied with Carmen's answer.
C: Oh. It's just cause we live in a swamp and it rains so much I can dry up a little bit faster if I get wet!
Q: Oh, ok. That makes good sense!

Queenie Comics - Small World!

Alice, Brianne, and Sarah are all hugging, with Brianne in the center pulling the other two towards her in a squeezing embrace. Alice and Sarah are both happy to see their cousin. At the bottom, a disclaimer for their outfit changes since the Halloween episode appears.
B: Cousins!
A: Brianne!
S: Hey, cuz!

In the second panel, the camera pans behind the three to show Queenie is also on the scene and happy to see Brianne. Brianne is replying to Queenie while the others listen intently.
Q: Hey, Brianne! When did you get in town?
B: About a week ago!

In the third panel, Alice is visibly upset with Brianne and Sarah is flashing a look of concern at their cousin, who is proudly standing between them with her hands on her hips.
A: A week!? and we're now just seeing you?
B: Yes! I wanted to surprise my favorite cousins!
S: You came all the way from the city just to surprise us?

In the fourth frame, Brianne has answered everyone's concerns and is excitedly pulling Alice and Sarah back into a squeezing embrace. Her words seemed to have cooled the air of mystery in the room, as everyone is once again celebrating her arrival. Queenie is wagging her tail, and even kitty has shown up for the vibes. Note: Brianne occasionally speaks in broken English, but she is getting better.
B: No. It's better, am your new neighbor!
A: Really?!
S: Hey, awesome Brianne!
Q: Oh, the moving truck was yours!
K: Meow!

Queenie Comics - Queenie Might Be Jealous! Part 2

Queenie is playing Mine of Worldlandia, but she seems a bit bothered by something. She is tapping away at her controller while the game acknowledges her and her team's victorious efforts in battle. Queenie's inner thoughts narrate each panel.
Announcer: An enemy has been slain!
N: What a strange dream...

In the second panel, the view zooms onto queenie's hands holding the game controller. She is still in combat, but continues to be in her thoughts.
N: I can't believe what a difference she made in combat...
A: Your team has a killing spree!
N: I'm still winning games, but it's just not the same...

In the third frame, Queenie is frustrated with the direction of her inner monologue and starts shaking her controller in frustration. She is looking up in exasperated annoyance.
N: She finally gets into the game, but we're barely playing together now!
Q: Ugh... I took our time for granted.
A: You are unstoppable!

In the fourth panel, Queenie can be seen walking away in frustration. Tossing her controller onto the bed. Kitty can be seen looking on at Queenie and letting out a concerned, meow.
Q: Ugh, forget it! I can't even look at this game right now.

Sometimes, Alice- yes, Alice- is the only adult in the room. I like to imagine that despite Alice's high-energy, her presence acts as a sort of moderating force towards Queenie's more compulsive side. I think they balance each other out nicely lol

Queenie Comics - Wildberries

Queenie has slightly gone off the trail to excitedly discover a Swampberry bush with plenty of berries on it. A small arrow and checkbox point to the bush to validate that the fruit is indeed edible.
Q: Whoa! Wild swampberries!

In the second panel, Queenie mischievously grins to herself as she muses on the berries. Her hair ahoge has popped up from berry-excitement making a springy "Doing!" sound.
Q: Maybe just a few...

In the third panel, Queenie has abandoned all faculties and has begun ravaging the berries from the bush, ferociously throwing berries into her mouth like a crazed beast. She can be heard loudly eating the berries while making "Nom" sounds.

In the fourth panel, a very full and dizzy Queenie comes stumbling home to Alice and Kitty. Queenie has swampberry sauce all over her face from her feast. Kitty is looking up excitedly at a small bag in Queenie's hand and Alice is looking at her ridiculous partner in mild disappointment.
Narrator: Later...
Q: Hey, Alice... I'm home. I think I ate too much again
A: I can tell. You've got sauce all over your face, still... are those swampberries?
Q: Yea, you want some?
A: Yes.
K: Miao.
A: Kitty, you don't even like them.

Even though Alice is more of a dog person, she and Kitty still get along fabulously. Queenie loves to see it.

Queenie Comics - Kitty and Alice

Queenie is reading a book and is looking up, distracted by a scratching sound and Alice laughing behind her. The book Queenie is reading is titled, Little Goat's Bluff.

In the second panel, Queenie gets up from the couch to see Alice standing in her doorway, holding something in her hand and laughing. The scratching sound continues.
Q: What are you doing behind my door, Alice?

In the third panel, Queenie playfully peers over a beckoning Alice who is excitedly looking down at the floor of the open doorway. She is holding a stick with a string on it.
A: Queenie, look!

In the fourth frame, it is revealed that a ferocious Kitty is behind the door, scratching at the underside of it trying to catch a mouse-on-a-string toy to no avail, and to the joy of Alice, and now Queenie. The two are sharing a laugh at the silly Kitty.
Q: Oh, I see!

Queenie Comics - Queenie Might Be Jealous! Part 1

A giant Queenie traverses a path in the meadows, all around her, small Alices gather and frolic about, following and meandering around the giant Queenie. They are all exclaiming excitedly, as the giant Queenie absent-mindedly hums to herself.

In the second frame, the giant Queenie's head has been turned into a massive swimming pool. Queenie is looking distressed at the Alices who are now recreationally using the swimming pool, complete with a diving board and a spiral water slide. The diminutive Alices seem to be having a great time.

In the third frame, Queenie is waking up in a sweat as she gasps for air. Revealing the previous frames as dream sequences. She calls out to Alice in confusion.

In the fourth frame, the camera zooms out to reveal that Queenie is sleeping alone tonight, per the agreement she and Alice made a while ago. Kitty is sleeping soundly in Alice's spot.
Q: Oh, I forgot I was supposed to spread out tonight.
