Non, je ne regrette rien.
Having been a Trek fan since the original run in 1966 and having seen everything that’s been done with it in its first run, I respect the storytellers’ viewpoints and universe building. While everything is not my cup of tea (Su’Kal and the Burn was just odd) I still love and support the franchise.

It just lies there: two halves face down in a pool of its own cheese.

The Cheeseburger Black Dahlia.

I was under a year old when I first was flown to a christening. I like to drive when I can, but between business trips and vacations, at least forty trips over the years. Actual take-off/landing counts well over 100.

Dear IRS:

Make sure you count it all.

King Julien had the moves!

But in your case, just say “it has polyphony of voices embroidering on satisfyingly solid themes in a great symphony creating a fresh world, like the Music of the Ainur.”

IOW baffle ‘em with bullshit.

“Movements” is cool. No explanation required.

As a data analyst who got his MS in AI back when this was all theoretical, I completely caution everyone to go slow. As an author, I will not let AI do ANY creative work. But if I need a list of 13th century nunneries near the Pyrenees or the Beatitudes in Wycliffe Middle English and the Vulgate 👏🏽👍🏽

Hey, man. I haven’t been around social media much lately because, at 63, I’m finally writing a histfic novel and I have you, in part, to thank. Your handling of cause and effect in history is deep in the DNA of my writing as is the everyday humanity of your characters.

So, thank you.

Not for nothing, but going back to the last game of last season, the Bears beat the Packers in 3 out of 4 games in 53 weeks.

In Caleb’s 5 starts against Green Bay, he’s a blocked field goal and an endzone interception away from 5-0 in comebacks instead of 3-2.

Mine has less a phobia and more of an impostor syndrome. It the hamartia of my nemesis, and what leads him to his downward arc in parallel to my MC’s path.

It sounds like a burndown chart!

I’m a lifetime IT first-time novelist guy. But I’m too wordy to be mathy.

I feel like the director filming more than I need, to later litter the cutting room floor. But one day, there w’ill be a director’s cut!

Live "Voyager" before it, I'm glad more fans are now discovering "Enterprise". I think it struggled in its initial airing because it is frankly very inside baseball -- if you don't know the various factions and some of their history, you're getting thrown in the deep end of the franchise's lore.

I was totally an Enterprise fan and, frankly, a fan of everything since I started watching first run TOS when I was 4. It’s in my DNA. So, yeah, inside baseball. Which reminds me: I’m reading the Name of the Rose and I’m totally getting Eternal Gallery and Archive vibes. Was Eco inspiration?

When I wrote columns for blogs, I had two “family members” I used for comedic foils, my cousin Jesus Hachecristo, a Texas trickster, and a profane barfly, Jimmy “Barstool” Grobnik, a quintessentially Chicagoan homage to the Mike Royko character “Slats” Grobnik.

New writer, avidly devouring the website and blog. I’m tremendously grateful for all the information!

Before I’d had a formless, nameless dread of the business end. Now that dread has both form and name.

So, thanks?

Is Darkness your old friend?
Do dream visions become idees fixe? Can you actually hear silence? Is that what’s got you down, bunky?

Well stand up and cheer for Garfunklimon! Weed out your implanted visions! Unfriend and ghost Darkness! And tell Silence to shut TF up!

This.

When Johnson was giving him a game ball he referenced it obliquely.

They knew who WR1 was last night, and while it wasn’t as traumatic as the Charles Martin hit, it’s from the same place.
