Yes 40% of car batteries now lfp chemistry and increasing rapidly. Sodium batteries already in production. Hopefully the plunderers will go bust.

Sorry to point this out. He signed a deal with Alberta Premier enabling the construction of a pipeline that will then enable exploitation of massive tar sands reserves. Drill baby drill

Energy superpower = I signed a deal on the tar sands pipeline.

Also Tesco have a club card deal on beyond burger at the moment

The UK has policy ambition to blend H2 into our leaky gas grid. Completely pointless in energy terms too, given low energy density and difficulty producing it.

This is far too easy to understand, hence the need for IAM'S to muddy the waters.

176 tiny maps (1850-2025)

Maps of temperature anomalies for each year. The progression to warmer, redder colours is evident over virtually the entire planet.

This 'small multiples' #dataviz approach is effective to show that nowhere is escaping from the warming due to us burning fossil fuels.

They don't use electricity to heat as such, but move heat from one place to another, so can be cheaper. My HP keeps monthly stats on energy use and was running at over 400 % efficiency for December, thus cheaper than gas. I also don't pay the gas standing charge.
January 13, 2026 at 2:18 PM
With the 7.5k grant might be cheaper than you think. My view is that modest houses should get the full cost covered but alas not.

I didn't use them as in a new build with one fitted already. But have the HP they tend to use ( vaillant) and it's good, although the installation and commissioning process more important than actual HP model.

Good thing about heat geek umbrella scheme is they guarantee performance and will send out an alternative engineer in the unlikely event it doesn't perform - but they audit local engineers too.
Likely to be cheaper than gas on running costs.

If you go ahead & switch to an induction hob too, you can remove gas supply and loose the gas standing charge.
Period homes & or terraced not a problem

If you decide not to go ahead at this point, at least you have the survey results for any future plans.

They use AI ( one of the better uses I've seen for it) to do an free instant estimate based on entering you're post code.
Its a £250 fee (to nail down more accurate cost) for subsequent survey which involves a heat loss calculation.

They have been involved in bringing some innovative water cylinders to market which they haven't patented- in the interests of speedy rollout. So good reason to support.
