I'm a current teacher and feel hope about the way things are going with phonics, but cultural change is going to take longer than we have. What I'm really afraid of is the demonizing of intelligence. I've had too many parent conferences where they talk about their kid's teachers like we're witches.

I'm glad it's a ballot initiative so he can't veto it. We need to make sure he sees trying to fight it as costing him the presidency.

I really like that Mystique and Destiny are finally getting acknowledged. It reminds me of all the older couples that finally got married after it was legalized. Rictor and Shatterstar are fun because it's an interesting lens rereading their early stuff as they start pairing off for stories.

Omg Ultima 9 turned me off of PC gaming so hard. I was so hyped for it, built a new computer just for it and still couldn't run the game.

This is the most I've engaged with other people on the internet since social media ruined it for me 20 years ago. It's great! I've only invested a minimal amount of time to keep my feed productive and positive.

I would have stuck with Economics if I could have had you as a teacher, or at least a teacher as real as you. I'm always tempted to go back for an econ masters, but I have zero faith it will be any better.
