Book 8 of #TheWheelofTime is called Path of Daggers. There are, indeed many paths in this book but I was disappointed that none of them were made out of actual daggers. That would have been crazy.

Mat Cauthon is absent from this book, which was a dagger in MY path. I love that guy.

Check it out.

Book 7 of #TheWheelofTime is called A Crown of Swords. In my imagination it was this hoop with full sized longswords or katanas and that just sounded uncomfortable and difficult to wear without hurting your neck. Turns out it's not that so the book name is appropriate. Plus...Cadsuane.

Book 6 of #TheWheelofTime is called Lord of Chaos. My goodness, between crazy bonding, impossible Healing, sexy sexy time with Rand, reincarnated Forsaken, Ms. Shaidar Haran, putting people in boxes and the infamous Dumai's Wells...this book has SO much chaos! What a roller coaster.

I've driven through this neighbourhood a few times. It's so much fun to see these street signs
dadsuanesedai.bsky.social
#WOTSkies I saw a post once that said a housing area in my city had #TheWheelofTime street names. So I went to go check them out and was so excited to find out it was true. This was years ago but the area has developed more and added new WoT names. I love it!
Screen shot of a map of the Killeen, Texas area where new homes were developed. The streets were named after Wheel of Time locations and characters. A street sign in the Central Texas area that reads "Illian Cove" A street sign in the Central Texas area that reads "Lugard Drive"

Book 5 of #TheWheelofTime is called The Fires of Heaven. Spoiler but there are no scenes in Heaven at all. There is quite a lot of fire though and since Rand throws it I guess it could be Heavenly Fire since he's the Dragon. Also, Nynaeve is in this book so...I already like it.

Check it out.

Book 4 of #TheWheelofTime is called The Shadow Rising. I thought it was a book about zombies and wouldn't that have been a crazy left turn in this series? But no, it furthered the adventures of Rand al'Thor. So many characters have shadows in this book. Maybe all of them!

Check it out.

Book Three in #TheWheelofTime is called The Dragon Reborn. It's clever. You expect winged creatures who breathe fire, and while one of those does appear on a banner and women do throw fire around...it turns out the reborn "Dragon" is something else entirely. What a twist!!

That costume is amazing!!!

Book Two of #TheWheelofTime is called The Great Hunt. No one takes out a six point buck or whatever they call them but there IS quite a bit of hunting throughout the book. Whether it's great hunting or not is up to you but I thought it was a great read so...check it out!

Book 1 of #TheWheelofTime is called The Eye of the World and it actually features many eyes throughout the story. Everyone seems to have them!!!

The channelers from other nations were impressed by what they could do with the One Power but it wasn't a defining factor of their worth. "Some people can and some can't [channel] oh well" was the vibe and I love that.

If strength didn't matter in the Tower, what might have been?

I guess Sony and Amazon both weren't interested in furthering this series or even finding an alternate medium (animation, etc) to keep the story going. This makes me sad.

It's intriguing because she was considered the most proficient (or one of the most proficient) Restorers of her time. Which makes her one of the best Healers of Rand's time. And she invented weaves that allowed her to toy with her victims and experiment on them. Truly terrifying.
dadsuanesedai.bsky.social
Nynaeve, Sumeko, and Semirhage may have different skills in Healing that were also miraculous but in terms of understanding the Talent itself and how the weaves worked, they (and Samitsu) seem to be unencumbered by "this is how it is" mentality. This allows them to innovate where others can't. (3)
dadsuanesedai.bsky.social
Samitsu had such a strong Talent that she could Heal as well as a full circle of sisters. Suana, Damer Flinn, Nynaeve, Sumeko, and Semirhage were accounted equally skilled Healers. Just beneath them were Corele, Dagdara, and Chesmal Emry.

Imagine being Healed by a Forsaken 😱 (2)

#WOTSkies

The Talent of Healing has a lot of neat nuances. Some Healers can restore a person free of all injury. Some can modulate the weave to heal certain things or even provide relief so the body can heal on its own, where it may have died otherwise but is too weak for full Healing (1)

Sooooo...Pedron Nial was the Great Captain but I bet he was annoying sometimes so I'm going to pretend my previous post was just a test 🤣
dadsuanesedai.bsky.social
He was lol I mixed up him and Valda. Turns out Nial was pretty respected as a Great Captain.

But he did start the Whitecloak War to expand into Altara and ransomed King Stepaneos to Illian after he captured the King.

He was probably nice enough...for a Whitecloak lol
dadsuanesedai.bsky.social
I got the wrong Whitecloak lol
dadsuanesedai.bsky.social
Oh oops haha I knew it was one of those guys 🤣
dadsuanesedai.bsky.social
While you may have only found Valda fans amongst the Children of the Light, the world recognized his ability in military affairs and as a leader and measured him to be superior. You may not like someone, but it is fair to give their strengths credence. That doesn't make them good people, though. (2)
dadsuanesedai.bsky.social
Things #TheWheelofTime taught me:

One of the Great Captains was Eamon Valda who led the Whitecloaks. A decidedly despicable man, yet he was counted amongst the Great Captains. This suggests that the character flaws of a person do not negate their skill set or expertise. (1)
