No. Think harder. The analogy makes sense. You just don’t want it to.

Exactly. It sounds like we’re in agreement: normal people on both sides of the argument.
December 8, 2025 at 6:40 AM
Fair enough.

0 for 2. Also incorrect. No circular definition. Circular definition requires me to define a term using the same or equivalent term and since love and popularity are not equivalent: No circular definition. But thanks for the trip down pedantry lane, fruitless though it was.

Okay, Luddite.

It’s fun! My wife and I had a good laugh. That’s value for me. Beyond that, I use for things like personal training. I’ve lost a bunch a weight. I also use it to study and to explore ideas. Personal and professional, it’s a very valuable tool.
December 8, 2025 at 6:04 AM
Disagree. We absolutely used them when they “sucked”. And AI doesn’t suck anyway. You’ve been lied to.
December 8, 2025 at 5:59 AM
Look: it’s my cat playing basketball!

It really looks like her as well!
December 8, 2025 at 5:45 AM
Thanks! The Luddites are out in force!
December 8, 2025 at 5:42 AM
No im good. I’m pretty informed on the subject. AI is good but the trajectory has really slowed down thank goodness. AGI is not all that close, which why I said it’s a reach. But yes, if/when that gets cracked things change dramatically and we should be worried.
December 8, 2025 at 5:40 AM
No. I said “love AI” as evidenced by its popularity. So no circular logic there, but thanks for playing.
December 8, 2025 at 5:37 AM
I mean, could kill us all is a reach. But I agree that there should be regulation. I’m not opposed to that.
December 8, 2025 at 5:34 AM
Oh, I understand all that thanks! Are you sure you do? Or have you just been fear mongered to?
December 8, 2025 at 4:52 AM
I understand it just fine. I actually work in low latency trading infrastructure, so I know a lot about data centers. You assumed I didn’t know for some reason.
December 8, 2025 at 4:51 AM
Done. Still think it is great. I also think factories are great and of course you can cherry pick examples of how communities have been negatively impacted by them as well. No reason we can’t build data centers and factories without causing harm to communities and I support policy to that effect.
December 8, 2025 at 4:40 AM
No worries, bro. I’m laughing at the non sequiturs just fine without it.
December 8, 2025 at 4:36 AM
Nuclear weapons can literally end civilization in minutes by plunging us into nuclear winter. AI might cause significant disruptions to labor markets. One of these things feels more dangerous to me personally.
December 8, 2025 at 4:33 AM
The original point I responded to was that AI supporters are not normal people, which is of course a ridiculous position from the start. You’re arguing that because only 47% people are some form of excited that those people are therefore not normal?

Can we just agree that normal people can like AI?
December 8, 2025 at 4:31 AM
No, I don’t think that. It’s a bizarre conclusion for you to draw.
December 8, 2025 at 4:27 AM
Man, I disagree with everything you said, but the nuclear bomb analogy is close. It’s more like being anti fission. In that it is a neutral scientific discovery that can be used for great evil or good and that can’t be made into some forbidden knowledge once it’s been discovered.
December 8, 2025 at 4:24 AM
That’s actually not what I said though, so way to go railing against an argument that no one made 👍
