Krubis was given his prosthetics early, to offset his genetic defects (missing limb + enigma syndrome-epilepsy type of disorder) and keep him busy as his living relatives feared he would become troubled due to the family's circumstances. self fulfilling prophecy. He is a full cyborg with many metallic innards that stabilize his issues with balance and seizures. The G3, at Nipulon's behest, covers most expenses and updates. Krubis is hesitant to spend money on even life saving maintenence, after all. Drawings: A baby krubis with closed eyes and a missing left arm labeled "bapy". A shot of Krubis sitting upright, shirtless and armor-less to reveal plating, ports and a control panel or similar device on his back. Krubis recovering from a seizure or perhaps experiencing the onset as Doug looks on uneasily. labeled "note: no perfect fix" in regards to the seizure-suppressing nature of his modifications Krubis joined the G3 on a "you break it you bought it" sort of deal - they nursed him back to health and gave him a "better""business opportunity" to make up for a cave in he accidentally caused while the sector of the mines he belonged to did work for the G3. As disillusioned as he is, he knows Garm and Nips saved his life. he feels very indebted to them both. especially Nipulon who he shares similar circumstances with. Nipulon even took Krubis in for a time while he got back on his feet . He fears and respects both but tends to side with Nipulon and trusts him to be more merciful - ironic, considering the man's reputation. They also met pre-translator microbe update for Krubis's language. Drawings: top right displays Krubis, helmetless, receiving disapproval and punishment from his previous boss as Nipulon and Garmantuous look on - with the implication that he's being given some ultimatum A simple sketch of Garm and Krubis without his helmet again. Garm simply observes Krubis and this makes him comically nervous The last sketch displays Nipulon comforting Krubis, who is wrapped in a blanket and bandages, within the context of the first paragraph. Nipulon looks worried and sympathetic as Krubis's facial expression is one of shock and defeat Krubis's dialogue is rendered as a string of squares, rectangles, triangles and small circles. Nipulon says, "idk what you're saying but we'll make this right. promise".

yuunban bionics prosthetics and cyborgism run rampant in yuunban society, due to technological advancements, deformities and illness from environmental toxins, and a system that more or less obligates one to become the perfect tool for the role they "need" to play (granted, this latter sentiment has wavered somewhat in recent years). Many cybernetic implants, especially now, are just that: normal replacements for limbs and organs, sometimes fitted with other mechanisms for convenience, self defense and leisure. The wealthier can afford better enhacements, and soldiers can get weapons They are known, though, for those who have tools for limbs and are reconstructed to be built for their occupations. the biorevolution the advacements in tech resulted in a very gung-ho implication of bionics within all sorts of sectors. firemen with enhanced thermoreceptors. singers with speakers embedded within them. syntehtic pouches. the working class got the brunt of it -- fishing poles, kitchen utensils, and infamously drills would be attached to many yuunban citizens, often at a young age to lock them into a career and save those who would otherwise be culled or left behind. ethical concerns, especially in the wake of a certain G3 officer's life and death, have lead to recent regulations to this practice! His armor serves as an engine, utilizing his vitals, energy and god knows what upon connection in order to drill endlessly Upon indoctrination into the G3, his technology was upgraded and modified to be better fit for combat and quicker work. His drills don't have the same inhibitors as career miners, his jets are powerful enough to burst through rock, and his new power pack is taylored for subterranean slaughter

In my mind empress has some attachment to Emperor, but I don't think they've actually crossed paths for long. There is an emptiness and disappointment in their absence but I am not sure that Empress *loves* him. I know them being husband and wife is a common jokey fandom thing and I do assume they're meant to be something of mates but I don't think it would present as "romantic" I would also find it interesting if one or both were rather averse to the other. Attached and aware of the obligated but otherwise uninterested. But uninterested in emperor's case and afraid in empress's Emperor anything but she Totally without and above gender. Everything and nothing. Pan? Not romantically nor sexually inclined but I would not consider them are or ace. Neither would they. Emperor is not all that present. I do not know if they ever crossed paths with empress or were even alive at the same time. I think there was an instance that they were, but they just missed each other. Regardless they haunt this narrative as a broken promise. Maybe it is something like a ghost or just a manifestation in Empress's mind. But there it is. They are polite to Empress, maybe nice at first, but never kind. They are a tormentor at first in their absence but later on they may make it clearer it only desires to bring Empress grief. I suppose it just represents what Empress cannot have. How wrong everything is. She was made wrong, given the wrong role, something. Their lives are messy, unfulfilling and cut short. It convinces her hope is lost, and earns her ire. Both do contemplate and hope to meet on much better terms in another life. Just. It cannot be here. It is far too late
