Frost flower lace pattern in raspberry merino/silk blend yarn. Toe up with star toe and FLK heels. Merino wool/silk blend lovely green sport weight yarn in Chrysanthemum pattern. Hundertwasser Opal yarn in faux cable socks. I made these in the fall and the colors remind me of turning leaves. Another Opal hundertwasser yarn colorway. Simple socks with ribbed legs.

I made two garter stitch very basic hats when I was reteaching myself how to knit a few years ago. Then, later, after many pairs of socks I made a knitted shawl. The sections between the decorative shells are garter stitched.
Navy wool hat. A garter stitch rectangle that was stitched at the sides then gathered at the top. Multicolored wool hat. A garter stitch rectangle that was stitched at the sides then gathered at the top. Knitted shawl with shell design. Garter stitch sections separate the shell areas. Various greens, with purple and a stripe of brown. The yarn is slightly fuzzy.

Peachy apricot many petaled rose. I think it’s an Austin variety. A purple clematis vine intertwined with a pink William Baffin climbing rose. Pink climbing rose (that needs to be tied to the fence) falling over blue leaved hostas. A dark red rose bush that I don’t remember planting! It has lots of small blooms. Very pretty.

I like the pink of the petals against the blue tone of the hosta leaves. Pale pink nearly white small many petaled rose bud. Pink rose with wavy edges, yellow center. Red rose with yellow fringed center.

I often meet a few friends (or sometimes one) to knit at a coffee shop or similar place. When we used my #swift and cake winder we drew quite a lot of attention. We almost always get questions about what we’re doing and what we’re making.
Coffee shop knitting. I like to have a plain simple sock to work on while chatting. I call it my “talking sock.” Another coffee shop knitting scenario. Technically not public maybe — in my back yard though. Chilling with wine and my knitting.

Pale pink outer and inner with creamy white fringy middle petals — peony. Very pale pink peony bud barely opening enough to see the fringed yellow center.

I’m kind of excited about my solution to slippery #acrylic #yarn cakes coming apart. I cut a 2-3” slice off old #nylon stockings then stretched the slice around the #yarncake. I stretched it to cover the sides and go slightly over the ends. I center pull so I think this will keep everything tidy.
Cut a slice from an old nylon stocking. Put the nylon tube around your yarn cake. Stretch the nylon tube to cover the yarn cake sides. Tidy yarn cake!

Witnessed a spectacular #sunrise on Wednesday morning from the eastern side of #DoorCounty.
Orange fading to purple and blue — sunrise looking through trees toward the water Orangey blue sunrise The sun begins to peek over the horizon. It was a few minutes after 5 am. Off to the side of the sunrise — more pink, peach, purple, gray blue. Colors would reflect briefly in the water. It was lovely.
