Never knows what to write in these sorts of things.
Huh, they did basically the same exact thing in the 00s procedural Las Vegas. The main womanizer character goes to an old classmate for help with something and the only joke is how confused he is about his old school buddy being hot as fuck and unrecognisable at first

The old gossip story about Sean Locke getting sick of him while shooting a panel show and calling him a "pink minstrel" stuck with me because it really is the perfect description of him.

That's the word! Thank you! I just spent a minute or two trying to remember what they were called but couldn't think of the word and had to rewrite my sentence. Googling variations of "what did they call people who dealt with dead horses" did not work at all, all I got was news articles
December 19, 2025 at 11:19 PM
Not just horse shit but horses who died on the job and was just left in the street until it could be dealt with! I've seen more than one old photograph of kids playing in the street with a dead horse just lying there in the gutter, no one batting an eye unless they're poking it with a stick.

You gotta do something with the fact that the Predators love to sample people's voices to play back in various ways

Have it discover the artform and switch to hunting for samples to make the sickest beats and 'defeat' all the other DJs? While wearing giant headphones that only cover one ear

I first heard about it on the comedy show Ghosts and just assumed they'd made up a silly game for rich people that somehow featured pickles, like it got started when an aristocrat threw a pickled onion at a servant

I was VERY confused when I then saw it 'referenced' on another show

There hasn't been a single ai image created that had an ounce of the soul or comedic energy that this simple stickman pisspost has.

"...So you see, college-aged Paul Rudd dating his highscool-aged step sister in this movie actually makes total sense because of that law from the 1800s!!" - me, making an absolute fool of myself after bringing up that subject on a date

I used to love listening to him reading his own works for that very reason! Now I kind of wish someone else had read them, to further distance the work from the man. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to listen to them again, while I have no problem rereading the books.

I've never been a huge SW fan so I'll definitely take a Knives Out series over it!
I'm mostly happy D&D didn't get it because they clearly hamstrung their own show to try and move on faster, fucking over everyone else working on it in the process, and it's nice to see they weren't rewarded for it.

Moffat would NEVER change another writer's work to do something as stupid as fuse together the only wildling tribe with nobles and the capability to forge weapons with the most uncivilised cannibal tribe that everyone else hates. For no reason at all except that they didn't care.
December 17, 2025 at 2:07 PM
Say what you want about Moffat's writing, at least he does care about lore! D&D clearly only cared about doing the Red Wedding because they saw a huge twist that would make everyone talk and give them prestige, which is why they couldn't wait to jump ship to SW after they'd blown their load.

The way they made Robb a hornhound oathbreaker and cut out LS should have been a bigger warning sign, tbh

Keeping Sansa in The Vale, using fArya, and kicking off a "GoTheNorthernThrone" war would also have given them so much time, if they weren't lazy and bored of politics. The setup is there!

"Wouldn't it be cool if Dracula hacked the wifi password (Which is Dracula) and called a lawyer, who then threatens the hundred years old secret organisation that they'll call the cops if they don't release the immortal serial killer currently trapped in a cell with a solar killswitch?"
December 17, 2025 at 12:06 PM
Lack of source material really wasn't a problem for GoT. The problem was they wanted to get the show over with after they'd done the Red Wedding, so they cut all the stuff that would have given them seasons worth of political intrigue.

Keep fAegon and get rid of Cersei and Dany's end makes sense.

The one that really got me was finding out Cate Blanchett named her kid after him. That shit's creepier and weirder than all the ones who just want to work with him because they want an Oscar.

It's probably just older than BLM. At that point Nazis, white power enclaves, sovereign citizens, libertarians and 4chan all united in HATING cops. Ruby Ridge and Waco were always on their lips. They only switched to fellating cops when it became a choice between cops and black people.

They also manage to miss a whole lot about the nazis they adore. I'm quite sure those guys would have shot anyone caught jerking off to cartoons featuring child horses.

Later someone cleaned up the recordings, so there's also a higher quality version on youtube and on the internet archive, for those who aren't charmed by scratchy quality that makes me think of a bad connection beamed through space

Years ago I randomly stumbled on these uploads, a Filk compilation cassette that the uploader kindly recorded and shared to preserve it. It opened up the genre to me and Dawson's Christian in particular still sends shivers down my spine.

It annoys me how much focus "the illuminati" gets when the Freemasons actually exist and have been doing conspiracies based on funny handshakes for centuries. Just because the Freemasons are too clearly Christian to pull the "they're Jews secretely controlling politicians!" angle that they love

Add sponsorblock and you won't even have to figure out how far you need to skip to get past the ad about some sketchy health thing that they're reading out in the middle of their video!

"Oh you actually wanted an answer to how Sherlock faked his death, in the show all about him unravelling mysterious deaths?? WELL SCREW YOU TUMBLR LOSERS!"
December 14, 2025 at 9:39 PM
True! But I ask you, where's the charm you find in a man training a hound to scare a man to death because of an ancient family legend, to steal the ancestral land the legend features in? Childhood trauma can't compete!

Lmao, all that's needed is 8 year old you getting nightmares from imagining a monstrous moose chasing your mom after killing others in her unit!
