Native East Bay retiree, gardener, with a Siamese cat and too many aquariums.
Is it so wrong that I want one, or two? I think it poops(lays) bubble gum.

The planted roof of the (former) henhouse has exploded! #flowers

Full weekend of Couch-ella for me and the cat. I love the Livestream and discover new (to me) bands to follow.

Aftermath. That was a lot of work. I'm an idiot!

I'm having people over for dinner tonight. I'm making too many dishes, but I have a lot of vegetables to use up. Everything worth doing is worth over-doing.

I moved the dining room table around and raised the chairs for vacuuming. My cat is making the best of it.

Good old-fashioned hof braus are underrated and getting scarce. Turkey dinner plate every time.

The Meadow Foam on the henhouse roof is going off.

A tray of concoctions in a bar draws me in like a, a, uhhhhh, a barfly?
Happy Friday.

Pho for lunch at the big Asian mall a couple of miles from home. Yes, I walked.

This little creek is the county line. Back when it was designated there was a growing population on one side and lawlessness on the other. Guess where all the bars, dens of ill-repute, and animal racing was? Trash dumping made the creek flood and my city was formed and taxes were created.

I was not up for a walk today but was getting hungry and the cupboard was bare. The cat was yelling at me nonstop, so I fled.
Two crispy chicken tacos and a carnitas tostada cost me 4 miles (RT)

There is a butterfly on the cat grass in the catio. There's no way he flew in. Maybe he transformed in the grass? I'm considering letting him out but he's not moving and I fear immediate predation as the Jays have spotted him.

Old man rant: I visited the museum train. There is NO WAY this little switcher was ever connected to a caboose. Cool though.

Reward for a long walk with more to come after this beer.

I'm taking today's walk in a small town nearby that, outside of a few restaurants, I haven't explored. This area was all industrial from the Gold Rush days.

I saw these two huge outrageous pincushion protea bushes on my walk. These do well here generally, but not at the Disaster Garden. My hillside clay soil can waterlog anything no matter how much I dig out and amend. I'm trying again with a strain similar to these. Vole didn't eat it.

I'm lucky to live in an older neighborhood where everyone has front yards but lawns are practically illegal. This means that I can easily spot the other gardening fanatics using that space.
This is nice, a good combo of structure and chaos. Looks tough to weed

I'm going to be a tourist in our nation's capital next month and I plan to be on my feet all day while there, so I'm training for it by walking a lot. Luckily there are plenty of destinations that are far enough to count and delicious enough to get me to go.
Today is my favorite burger joint.

I've got a pair of jays building a nest nearby. They are going after my hanging baskets. I'm going to try that anti-squirrel spray then maybe some netting. Disaster Garden
