The 50% has been the way Twitch has always done things. I think the big issue here is most people gifting that much aren't intending to give half of it to Twitch. It's one thing when it's 3 dollars here or there, roughly what they take per sub. Once you get into larger numbers, the issue appears

Yes. I agree. Overall, the vibe on Twitch right now is shaky at best. W/ a bunch of big streamers saying Twitch Con isn't safe, lurkers not being counted, etc. I'm really happy to be a YouTube partner, and I'm questioning my future on Twitch to be 100 percent honest. I hope things balance out soon.
