Not sure what it says about me that I miss J&R as if it had been a person. I was dressing to walk down there when WNYC put a time salesman on air to report he had just seen an American Airlines plane fly into the North Tower. J&R didn't reopen till past mid-October.

When I was a kid, on his radio show Paul Harvey used to scare me to death with predictions the commies were ready to come and grab us any minute.

The party reeks of serving focus groups, not real people—so out of touch. I'm a New Yorker who usually supports Schumer decisions even if reluctantly. But this time he's dead wrong on a huge issue. Maybe he really has outlived his usefulness.
