Book 5 of the year: The President’s Hat by Antoine Laurain. Delightful.
January 8, 2026 at 7:07 PM
Book 4 of the year: The River is Waiting by Wally Lamb. Straight into the books of the year list, be very surprised if it’s not near the top come December.

Book 3 of the year: Beautiful Ugly by Alice Feeney. Absolute page turner, story drew me in, writing and plot was great. Until it wasn’t. The twist didn’t land for me but I know tons of others loved it

Book 2 of the year: The Mysterious Double Death of Honey Black by Lisa Hall. Absolutely loved it. Time jump shenanigans to the glitz of Hollywood in 1949 and Lily Jones has a murder to stop from happening

Spotted this in Leeds last night. I was initially confused until it twigged. Someone at Everyman is *very* pleased with themselves.

Also picked up the signed indie bookshop edition of @vaseemkhanuk.bsky.social's fabulous Quantum of Menace from @bforbutterflybooks.bsky.social . Q is out of MI6, but has his own mystery to solve. A must for any #JamesBond fan!

Super excited to get an email about Jennie Godfrey's new book being up on NetGalley, especially when it started with "you're invited to..."

Alas, it was just part of the blurb! Requested, with fingers and toes crossed!
