This was highly recommended by a friend of mine and it did not disappoint - it's a story of tragedy, addiction, and how it shapes our life (and beyond). One of the best King endings in recent memory.

It's a classic for a reason - it's a spooky adventure/mystery into the horror of prehistory. There's lots of passages that were clearly inspirations for the modern day cosmic horror genre.
Also a very short read!

A novella that covers quite a bit: religious covenants, the concept of eternity, and the meaning of companionship.
It's a short read at just over 100 pages and well worth the time for the thinking that it forces, afterwards.

An incredibly disturbing but somewhat hopeful look at the logical conclusion for corporatism.
The writing is haunting, dark, and all too prescient but incredibly compelling.

This one haunted me in a way that I've never felt before - it is disturbing and creepy in the best way. It is also the reason I've stopped eating beef and pork (for now).
Also has one of the best closing paragraphs in horror, imho!

The Cenobites steal the show! This is a quick, creepy read and worth checking out for anyone that enjoyed the Hellraiser movies!

I didn't know what to expect when this was recommended to me and I still don't really know how to describe it fully but if you like Lovecraft and cosmic horror, this may scratch an itch. The setting and character descriptions were a highlight.

"Area X" is somehow changing the local environment and a government agency is trying to learn whatever they can about it. The Southern Reach series is such a wild ride and I can't recommend it enough! Some scenes have stuck with me.

I had never read this before but thought the TV and movie adaptations were interesting enough and the book is just so much more than what was put on screen. It's not without flaws but the amount of creativity in monster design and immersive settings was impressive!

Apparently this story was converted from an online episodal horror project into a full-length novel. While that aspect of it shows in it sometimes being disjointed, it's a really interesting and atmospheric read.
