Ex NSW High School Principal. Strong interests in equity and education. Folk music, wine, and tea posts are just me procrastinating
In 2011 my son's partners mother (Min Chen) won the Life Scientist of the year award. Congrats to the winners this year

Not saying that all Shire people support MAGA, and post as American Republicans, but....

To be fair, if you come from the Shire, Northern Beaches might as well be North America🫠

My quotation is coming directly from the AEC form. I imagine that the GP might have endorsed the form if the facility had regular visitations.

Note to those who want to take similar action to remove aged relatives from electoral roll, for many good reasons. You need a signed medical certificate to show that your relative is "of unsound mind and incapable of understanding the nature and significance of enrolment and voting"

Thanks Denise, it's a bleeding obvious answer. We all remember the GONSKI funding election, where the promised funds for public school students evaporated after the election, like the promise of an effective anti corruption commision.

Have a look at Gough Whitlams memorial service, and some of the speeches, especially Noel Pearsons. Gives you some flavour of the feeling of life before neoliberalism.

Oh gosh, is this the most feedback you have got on a bluesky post? My quick gut reaction was Triumph Stag as well, or the most tryhard car known to peoplekind, a Fiat. You always brought 2, one to drive and one to drive when the other one broke down. It also made it easy to find spare parts.

Cheers Margo, takes me back to my days at the Franklin River demos. The JP then, too many arrested for full court hearings and hearing that I was an education student gave me a 6 month good behaviour bond as well. Good thing as I could not have become a teacher in NSW at the time with a conviction.

NSW Australia 1977. A teaching scholarship paid my uni fees and daily costs, and allowed me to follow my passion for science. The joys of high school teaching (& the lows) came later. Retired as a Principal.

Andy, with that slogan in Eden Monaro, you would have my vote.

Also the politeness (not the best descriptor but it will do) not to directly argue with the RWNJ's, but to block them or just not respond. They don't show the same behaviour, and they dont often hear differing opinions or verifyable truths. We need to be heard directly disputing the disinformation.

Thank you Jacoby for the new collective noun. I will be using it frequently.
