Longtime software developer. I love to eat and cook foods with names I can't pronounce properly.
Accidental expat living in Cambodia.
American and angry at it.
I have reached that plateau where every OneDrive "Your memories from this day" collage email has at least one picture of my cat in it.

Here is a tiny frog (or toad maybe), and the same frog being threatened by a gigantic pinky finger kaiju.

My housemate is making preserved lemon (limes)! They went from green to bright yellow when he parboiled them, then turned a mottled beige after drying off in the sun. They then got packed with rock salt in jars which were then filled with water. They'll sun a few months before they're ready to eat.

Those are snap layouts for snap windows. They can appear near the top of the screen when dragging a window, or when hovering over the maximize icon on a window toolbar. You can change the behavior or disable it in the Windows 11 (or 10) Settings->System->Multitasking.

I and a co-worker got deep into #tea in the mid 2000's. Totally forgot that I packed a couple bricks acquired back then. Decided to break them out and share with my son, now he's getting deep into #tea lore and infodumping everything he learns about it.😀
It's pleasant stuff. Not quite green anymore.

Occasionally I accidentally enable the AI assist in DuckDuckGo search and the auto-generated summaries never fail to annoy.
Here the AI response swapped the equivalent cooking temperatures of a convection or fan oven and conventional oven. The referred sources did have the correct temps.

lol. The text classifier has been applying warning labels to some very innocuous skeets too. Sometime you can guess what triggered it, but it's still funny.
There's the kernel of an interesting project there.

This year a tree on our street is just bursting with water apples. It's not normally so productive.

Some sort of charity event at my house today. My housemate Ratha gave me heads up, but no details.

First time we had silk worm pupae and it was delicious. They have a fluffy airy texture and mild nuttiness. They were fried with tender lime leaf and chili, both didn't overpower the pupae. It was the standout of a meal that was all good. Labeled the close-up pic as 'Graphic Media' because pupae.

Went out to a local cafe with my son late afternoon. It was close to dinner when we left and I didn't feel like cooking so we checked out the street foods nearby. So good. We got silk worm pupae, chicken eggs (not fetal), grilled baby octopi, and bor bor (rice porrige) with blood cake and offal.

Last night I went downstairs to find a bunch of people from MasterChef Cambodia hanging out (a housemate is a guest on the show occasionally). This time I put pants on first.
