The study also delves into sex differences in the prevalence of autoimmunity. As expected, females accounted for 2x the diagnoses compared to males. Perhaps since several of the most prevalent disorders affect predominantly more females than males.

Our work, which utilized bulk tissue RNAseq and ChIPseq, still leaves much to be explored. We’re looking forward to sharing the findings from ongoing studies-they’re pretty cool.

is it purely a difference in signaling? Do TFs interact with different complexes by sex? Do changes in TF DNA interaction occur via other sex dependent factors/mechanisms?

Interestingly, this relates to a newer, and ripe for challenge, understanding of transcription factor biology and sex differences. More importantly, it raises questions for future work about the nature of these differences-
