Almost certainly because it's interacting with stdin itself (reading keys, etc.). It has a demo mode now (pass --demo) that can be used to run it & just render the initial screen for verification purposes.

There's no support for file-based apps in Visual Studio. Working on a single file as an application doesn't really fit with the way VS works (solutions, projects, etc.). VS Code w/ the C# & C# Dev Kit extensions is the way to go.

Just launched a polyglot multi-front end, multi-backend, GraphQL driven tech stack built, instrumented, and deployed entirely using Aspire across multiple environments. Wouldn’t have been possible to do what my team accomplished in the time we had without it

Yep, Directory.Build.props/targets is the escape hatch for now. We're looking at enabling multi-file in the near future (hopefully before 11)
