Building climate tech in the intersection of weather, AI and the grid. And living life.
Recommendation 12 I’m less sure about, as it’s wooly and needs a lot of clarification.

Recommendation 11 for instance could be applied very proactively to #electricity #grid data. We could recommend a ton of datasets around solar, wind generation, heatpumps, batteries, and so forth.

The "#AI opportunities" shouldn't be open season on creative work, but...

one of the risks we see at @openclimatefix.org for the energy transition, is difficulty in creating a smart #electricity #grid. Having good data to enable AI to make the grid work with renewables is exciting.

Decent start:

Ausgezeichnete klare Botschaft!
And I get to practice my German 😉

Market rules and/or grid investment will likely be different in 10 years and governments are the only people really well placed to take on the risk coming from those decisions. Keep in mind also electricity is somewhat unique in that you can’t pick electricity up and sell it somewhere else!

I agree that governments have a part to play in taking some of the risk of long term price uncertainty.
One reason electricity is special is that it is incredibly subject to regulatory risk.

I’m @jack-kelly.com’s co-founder at @openclimatefix.org and Jack has a unique eye for spotting and actually doing something about climate gaps. This definitely could make a big difference to all the energy-meteorology work out there!

Will be fascinating to see how this goes and what uptake is. Definitely interesting!
I hope they publish some figures on the ensemble accuracy versus the range of individual forecasts.
