Writing is so...accessible? As a form that you can pretend a lot easier. People believe it more bc they think oh you just have Word or a journal or whatever

It's a very very strange mix of trying to make lolcows out of random people, being anti-D&D, and defending CR against anything. It's just casting around to get whatever is popular
