I’m not a lawyer, but I am the daughter of 2 lawyers, the granddaughter of a judge, and FWIW, a history major and a DC kid, and I am alarmed by the lack of alarm. We’re way across the Rubicon here. 🚨🚨🚨
It's genuinely hard to express to sort of normal not politically plugged in non-lawyers *how* lawless the Trump administration is, and I think that's some part of the problem.

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.
