That being said: actually having and knowing these details helps me navigate the scenes and plot so much.
It's much easier to think of what impacts the PCs decisions have, when I know how it would have all went if they had never shown up at all/had made decisions I planned for.

Seriously tho, some of my favorite moments of my ~7 year DnD experience are when something so unexpected happens that I have to rethink/rewrite a bunch of stuff 😌💕
