Do you baste the whole quilt down and then, for example, quilt one inch widths between the lines and then quilt between those lines to prevent shifting? Or do you spray baste? I don’t like using basting spray but I’m thinking I need to anchor the quilt top before doing the straight line quilting?

Thank you so much 🌼. I think I’m going to do vertical straight line quilting. I haven’t yet used my channel locks so I’m going to practice on muslin with them first. Wish me luck!

This is my experience; I’m by no means an expert though so your mileage may vary 😃. Here is an example of the Superior Glitter thread on the longarm. I traded the sit down in for the frame earlier this year but they’re both 20”Regalias.

I didn’t buy the robotics for my longarm so I’m amazed that the computer can target these designs so precisely around your piecing. That’s very cool.

I like Magnifico too. I think it shows up better than metallic or the Superior Glitter thread. It doesn’t sink down into the quilt as much, if that makes sense? I’m looking forward to seeing your end result. Your FMQ rocks!

The quilting is STUNNING! What kind of gold thread are you using? Metallic? Holographic? High sheen poly? The tree skirts are awesome!

I would skip across a high bridge with shark infested, churning water below during an 8.0 earthquake while humming songs from The Sound of Music if I knew Krista Moser designed & built it! Even my husband, a PhD in aerospace engineering, is impressed.
