Apparently they’ve incorporated some of the Broadway changes into the West End with this cast, so if I really needed an excuse to go again… 9yo wants to see it again too. Just need to find a convenient Saturday matinee.

Also, I really, really need to go see the current cast.

If you’re entered in the lottery you’ll get either a winning email with a booking link or a “sorry not this time” email.

Yes, ballot is usually for extensions = £40 tickets on Monday and possibly other days 🤷🏼‍♀️. Lottery is drawn every 2 weeks in Fridays and allows you to buy 6x tickets for shows the following two weeks for £25. The OM discord usually have people sharing unused lottery links for people in need.

Sent young 4yo C off to his first full day at school this morning. He started on Monday and have settled in well with 3 half days. I cannot believe my baby boy is now a schoolboy.

🤣 How many magnify glasses does one archivists need?

There is so much going on here, where to start…?

My other half asked AI to make a photo of me into “an archivist in an appropriate setting”. What the actual…? 😂

Yes, you are in a particularly privileged position where you get to hear about great things different archives do as part of your job. But I hope you still manage to find talks/people at conferences that makes you go “Yes, this is why it is important. This is why I like working in this sector.”

Home from #ARA2025 and I have some reflections on why I think it is beneficial attending conferences once in a while (and why I love going to @araconference.bsky.social). These are personal observations, you might not agree, and that’s fine. If that is the case, please share your thoughts. 1/7

And finally, by attending conference you get ideas and inspiration you can take back to your place of work and copy or adapt. You get to meet many excellent, brilliant, friendly archive professionals and you get to build your professional network, which is a very valuable thing. 7/7

How I have gained confidence in talking to other archive professionals and in contributing thoughts and questions to the topics being discussed. Conference makes me reflect on where I am in my career and where I might like it to go. 6/7

Third, attending conference makes me reflect on how far I have come since I attended my first ARA conference. How much I have grown and learnt as an archivist - and how much I still have to learn! 5/7

Secondly, at conference you get to challenge yourself by attending presentations on topics which you might be unfamiliar with or that you find uncomfortable. Attending these and reflecting on them will make you grow professionally and will expand your understanding of the sector. 4/7

This year my “Yes!” moments were the Keynotes on Day 1 and Day 3. Especially the latter, I could not stop smiling during the presentation by Rix Inclusive Research/PurpleSTARS. It was inspiring and I really hope they get a lot more archives/museums to work with. 3/7

The first reason is this: Sometimes you might go a bit “why does it matter?” in your job. At conference you are likely to hear presentations which make you go “Yes! This is why I do this job! This is why it matters!” 2/7
