Dane County is piloting a new program that uses sheep to manage invasive species along streambank fishing easements. The sheep are kept within designated fenced areas along the stream and graze on the vegetation before moving to the next segment.

Last month, Dane Demo Farms brought together 85 people for a soil health clinic, partnering with some amazing farmer-led groups like Yahara Pride Farms, Biological Farmer Friends of the Lower Yahara, and Farmers for the Upper Sugar River. Attendees learned from fellow farmers and industry experts.

Winter ice is so beautiful to behold, up close and from afar! We love to see all the details that frozen water holds. Even on these blustery days, it's worth taking the time to stop and look closer at these frozen details before they're gone.

Dane County received two awards from the WI Arborist Association. The 1st was the 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗳 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 for a tree planting project in the village of Dane. The 2nd was the 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗥𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 presented to Forester Specialist, 𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗺 𝗔𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀. Congrats!
