I struggle to re listen to this jam. During the last few weeks trying to pin my playlist down putting this jam on has felt like a chore and for that reason it’s not my JOTY.
It has a good final 10 minutes or so and I totally get why people like it so much. Just not my favorite.

Jams weren’t weak. In fact I think the top half of the bracket is incredibly strong and I would stack it up with any other years top jams. There was just less of the good stuff overall.
More of a Quality over quantity kind of year in my opinion.

My thought is there was a back door agreement between the VP and the U.S. to allow Maduro to be captured with the understanding she would work with us on oil development. There was a shocking absence of military resistance during his capture by Venezuela.

I see. I’ve also noted a bit of revisionist history when it comes to maduro that isn’t accurate.
I fear the U.S. has underestimated the ability of a dictator to hold a fractured country together. Libya and Iraq are examples that come to mind where the country is still a mess after U.S. regime change

No sympathy for Maduro, he’s the worst. But invading a country and kidnapping its ruler sets a bad precedent.
Additionally, I hoped we learned our lesson in Iraq but going into Venezuela for oil could entangle the U.S. in a long and costly affair for years to come.

I can’t believe the masses didn’t enjoy the BD Flamingos reprise as much as did. Was it a top ranked jam no but certainly worthy of top 64 in my opinion.

I agree. I have a few short echos and the Grand Rapids cakes and Half step on my playlist. All of those are fairly short but pack a lot.
