I can scan a node stack trace and find things pretty quick, but a dotnet stack trace is foreign to me.

Similarly, with linting, if you aren't expecting there to be 8 lines of node errors at the end, you might not realize that there is more above.

Experience makes it get easier eventually.

I place it more on internalized pressure to be "fast". I know when I'm looking at a foreign stack trace or error log I have to slow way down to ingest and comprehend what is happening (example: I primarily work in node, and sometimes I have to read a dotnet stack trace)

Oh yes, that's why it's only a step in a good direction.

Y'all know I do not tend to speak well of react, and I have many strong opinions about it, but this is something that at least appears to be a step in a good direction.

An independent foundation that is the steward with proper formal governance is a good thing. (Ala the Django foundation)

💥 did a small drawing explaining the JS execution model including the event loop. I hope it’s helpful to folks. Debugging is always easier when the underlying implementations are understood.

But Homer, the react dev team knows better than everyone. They are infallible and only make good technical decisions.

If someone is being a creep or inappropriate to someone and you are in the room, it is your responsibility to say "hey cut that shit out" to them directly. Report them if there's a code of conduct they're violating.

I'm tired of finding out about abusers via the whisper network.

posting this here because I feel like we’re all buddies

if you want to come to @magnolia.boo and you’ve been laid off or are otherwise unemployed or just need some help, holler at me or @richard.sween.dev.

as long as you can make it to Jackson, we don’t want the cost of tickets to be a barrier 💙

When I worked in theatre, I had a very short list of people I would refuse to work with.

Now, in tech, I have a very short list of white guys I WILL work with.
