It’s the “I want to have conversations and learn new things” philosophy of social media vs the “I want to shout my beliefs at others” philosophy of social media

It’s too bad there are so many of the later compared to the former

Trust is interesting because it’s not quantifiable but it certainly is palpable. Teams with trust move lightning speeds faster than those without.

At the risk of sounding like a LinkedIn lunatic, I broke down how much time I work, eat, sleep, exercise etc. Factored in an hour for drooling on myself when I wake up and go to sleep.

I still have about 4 hours to work with on weekdays. I’m aiming to be more intentional about that time.

✍️ Just finished another code drawing in my AI series, this one's about MCP in practice. Enjoy!

I keep donating money hoping it will help but with the amount of text spam I get, I worry it’s just all going to Twilio

💥 I did a drawing that breaks down Transformers in AI

Spent a good amount of time on this one, breaking down concepts in a way that someone new to the subject could come away with basic high-level understanding. I hope it's useful!

Any one of these daily atrocities should result in a full congressional investigation and a disbanding of the agency. The fact that it’s all just shrugged off by those with the power to stop it is a national disgrace.
ICE ended up returning the man, Saly, after realizing he’s a fucking US citizen with no criminal record, per his sister-in-law. These fucking animals.

I’m curious about something- for those of you who have kids, what does a typical weekend look like for you? Please tell the truth and not the glossy version, if you don’t mind sharing

Progressive enhancement is really important for enabling the best possible user experiences for everyone!
This looks OK, but it would be so much more satisfying with more particles. Check out how nice it is with 70 particles instead:

Made a lil' library:
codepen.github.io/slideVars/

Automatically detects CSS custom properties on the :root/html and gives you controls for adjusting them. (But it's also as configurable as you want it to be.)

ceding AI to the right is a generational poltical mistake and bullying LLM researchers off bluesky to cook their brains in twitter racism is a self defeating and foolish act from well meaning people deluding themselves into thinking intentional ignorance is a valid form of critique and resistance

I write my posts myself, not with AI. I had to take all the em dashes out because I was too worried people would think it AI generated 😔
"em dashes are AI" i didn't memorize alt+0151 and option+shift+hyphen to be accused of such treachery

I just found out that Contact (the movie and book by Carl Sagan) was about a real life person- Jodie Foster was playing Dr. Jill Tarter, former Director of the actual Center for SETI Research. She coined "brown dwarf" while researching small-mass objects that fail to stably fuse hydrogen. Neat.

I have series on Android, WASM, Rendering on each platform, and the beginning of JS Fundamentals. Enjoy!

100% this! 🙌

“There is a certain intellectual laziness that settles at either extreme of the hype/skepticism spectrum. By failing to acknowledge both the utility and the dangers, we allow some to run untethered into mayhem while others wear blinders, convincing themselves it isn't happening.”

Greatly put as usual when @sarahedo.bsky.social writes. Precious words that sadly resonate a lot with some of my past experience.

🎊 Just wrapped up my 2025 reflections, and well, it was a wild year!

I reflected on how the AI shift has changed my role at Google, and the way teams build. At the same time, I worked on keeping balance for family, friends, and the hobbies that keep me sane.
