I always advise to think with a 5 block method. Draw and discard to accommodate, if you have 6 groups in hand, cut one - usually a 1-2 group or an extra pair. Second, less helpful point, is to learn the Yaku. The more you play, the more you'll get a feel for what kind of hands are winning often! 😀
