True, but timing is everything. Ins. Do you think BCBS suddenly grew a heart? Not likely. You can pearl clutch all you like, but people are suffering because of people like this homicidal CEO. If we had single payer healthcare this wouldn't be an issue and this guy wouldn't have gotten capped.

Except that we're not in an era where policy will address a damned thing. Notice that in the aftermath, Blue Cross Blue Shield reversed track on capping coverage on anesthesia for surgeries? That is a net plus and more effective than most politicians have been with their decorum and bi-partisan B.S.

Harris refused to communicate a populist vision that would actually help those in poverty in an immediate and material way. A 20% tax incentive to homebuyers doesn't help ppl who can't afford to buy a house. She didn't speak to the base, but campaigned with Republicans...it's just bad politics.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough -Trump spoke to the pain of poverty by providing solutions to that poverty -of course his solution is to blame migrants, but both the Democrats and Republicans have pounded the drum that illegal immigrants are bad, so that solution sounded good to those in poverty.

Bernie should be the model on how to talk to voters. His no bullshit approach and his willingness to speak out against corruption in both parties really connected with voters. He was the only one with a truly populist message that spoke to people's pain. Kamala was the status quo, and that hurt her.

True, but I think politics is more about optics now. Instead of pretending to be morally superior then neglecting the working class while Republicans go low and speak to workers, Dems need to go low, but with policies that address root causes of poverty like price gouging, Free Healthcare, UBI, etc.

I think chalking this loss up to one specific issue is missing what we need to do to get our democracy back. Your point is valid, but not the oNly reason. Bad policies, bad politics, and a general refusal to fight for what we need as a society are all components.
