I think he showed signs of that at the start of the season. But that seems to have changed. Farke is using him in that deeper build up role, which inhibits that. I liked him early on in the season doing more box to box things. Thought that was an effective use of him.
Hard to separate injuries tho.

Sure, there is balance to be had and always important to point out where you are inferring something or analysing with some unproven assumptions. Not much you can do about that without access really. As long as you're clear what you do and don't know when providing that analysis, you're ok IMV

Wouldn't be against it at all.
A few of us have discussed this being a potential 3-5-2 team. Similar thinking, but you can maintain the midfield three we currently have but probably allow more late runs into the box from deeper CMs. Just a more stodgy system really, but maybe that's what we need?

end of cutbacks to be a problem, but that wasn't the case here. But as soon as they started to get in behind our fullbacks after his change, our structure opened up.

I shouldn't have called him that in frustration, if I did, I don't recall.

On Emery, he talked about noticing we had a weakness for runs in behind and made that change. That's something he noticed mid game rather than anticipating a previously seen weakness.
I expected late runs arriving on the

As I say I'm another tweet, it's got plenty to do with that.
I just think Farke isn't playing to the strengths of the squad and there are ways to play the percentages and level the playing field a bit. Farke isn't doing that and crucially I don't think is prepared to do that.

around the CF for knock downs. I just don't think Farke has that in his mind other than for emergencies. That's the fundamental problem for me.
Add in the in-game changes he can't make.
Feel like if we can find a coach who can deal with those issues, we will get better.

I don't think we should be a slow build up team, not with the current squad. Would be much happier if they had a plan to play or forward quickly and build from there.
That would get more from Okafor and probably Gnonto as they seem to be good off the cuff types and we could get more midfielders
November 25, 2025 at 11:16 AM
One of the problems with his build up structure of pulling a midfielder out into the fullback area to make a back three is that it empties the midfield a bit, the other two need to hold their position so are not able to gamble early on getting forward. Also, it's a problem that slows down build up,

It's not unfair to say as a newly promoted team we don't have the quality of depth of most of the rest of the league. But if that's all you're saying, it's pretty weak.
November 25, 2025 at 10:26 AM
Yeah, his comments really sharply highlighted what we don't have in the dugout.
November 25, 2025 at 9:43 AM
Fair to say both Forest and Villa have better benches than Leeds. Also, I see Dyche as limited, not Emery.
But the point is, he can sometimes set us up well, like mostly did v Villa. But when the opposition adapt in game, he does not. It is costing us points. I think upgrading is entirely possible.

in detail, as I demonstrated, but in concept.
The people of Bristol, Hull and Liverpool are well aware of the slave trade history in those cities. It is taught in school. Could we do more to understand our past, absolutely. But the survey quoted is bullshit
November 17, 2025 at 1:08 PM
This is all interesting and I'm learning from your tweets.
Back to the original point, the great news is, my son has studied the slave trade at school (in England, he's 14, year 10 now) and we took him to the Wilberforce Museum off the back of that. This still is fairly well understood, if not >
November 17, 2025 at 1:05 PM
It's obviously this. I would've answered 200 years if asked how long Britain was involved in the slave trade, 1630s - 1830s ish.
Might not have been fully aware of the 3 million number. Doesn't mean I or other Brits are completely ignorant of the involvement in the slave trade.

My theory is he is a fast twitch sprinter/power type athlete.
It's hard for these types of athletes to recover. Or takes more work to get them able to perform over longer time frames.
