Imagine thinking that bankrupting a sexual assault victim and her husband, after they've just had a baby, is going to restore your "reputation"

There's a vindictive spitefulness to fmr Liberal Senator Linda Reynolds that is deeply disturbing. I hope Brittany Higgins & @davidsharaz.bsky.social have lots of support. 😔 #auspol #auslaw

This is hard to believe, she changed the world.

It shouldn’t take bravery for survivors to come forward about sexual assault.

It only takes bravery because the systems that are supposed to protect survivors betray them. In a more just world, it would be easy for survivors to come forward and we would all be waiting to hear and help them.

That is so cool! 👏

Oh, a poll could really help her out! She must struggle to decide with all the terrible men she has represented.

This will be Australia at the end of this year when our government does this.

Oh, great. So once Australia brings in age verification laws at the end of this year, this is how it will go for smaller platforms? Our government is ridiculous.

The Greens are so pleased the Senate just unanimously passed the bill for a national code to prevent & respond to gender-based violence on uni campuses.

This much needed reform will help prevent and tackle sexual violence on campus, and would not have happened without tenacious survivor advocates.

Wow, look at that 👏🥹

Calling foods "clean" implies there's "dirty" foods. No, there's just food. I hate it!

Cultures of impunity will persist if we reframe abuses of power as lack of intelligence or ‘misunderstandings’

I walk around and explore, but have to set a reminder for 10 mins before so I don't forget the appointment. 🤣

Great, now I'll always know this 🤣

Haha, I think netball uniforms are universally recognisable for that reason.

Ah, yes. The same old pattern of people with power making it look like they're doing something while doing nothing, or worse than nothing 🫠

This. OMG finally.
Congrats to the brave whistleblowers and victim-survivors who have come forward. It's been many years coming.
First of many alleged perpetrators to face justice, hopefully.

This was interesting, even for someone who didn't play netball!

Why would anyone consider a fictional, very dramatised tv show suitable for educating school kids?

I found my way back eventually, it did take quite a while lol. I have no sense of direction, so got lost many times on my trip! All part of the adventure 😊

I enjoyed your story - you write so vividly.

When I was in Cortona, Italy, I found such a place. The view was incredible and I watched the sunset before getting lost in the dark.

It’s a good day to be a Michigan Ave tulip 🌷
Yellow and orange Tulips along Michigan Avenue in Chicago fill the foreground. Classic skyscraper along Wacker Drove are out of focus in the background

Exactly, that's exactly it. It was a scary response, but they do not react well when you tell them about the impact it had on you.

I gave a talk today and a very smart victim advocate put why mediation doesn’t work for sexual violence into a single sentence:

Once a perpetrator knows the (very reasonable) thing a victim needs, he becomes obsessed with making sure she can’t have it.
