The trick is to understand that it's not about facts. It's about how they feel. When an opportunity like that shows up, I like to take a step back and analyze how their mind works. Not everyone looks at facts and then decides on feelings. A lot of people feel things and then extrapolate the facts.

I don't think I would sincerely respect the opinion of anyone who calls Portal, one of the most influential works of media in history, cringe. Portal is amazing.

Multiplayer: Can the exploit be used by anyone? Use it until patched. If it gives only a subset of players an advantage, though, report it and hope for patch. Even if it would've been advantageous for me.
Single player: Does it make the game more fun? Use it. Does it make the game less fun? Don't.
