October 7th will forever be remembered for the horrific Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel that brought unimaginable pain and loss. We mourn every life taken and remember the hostages who still haven’t come home. May we commit to rejecting hate and work toward peace, safety and security for all.

A shutdown isn’t abstract. In Illinois, workers lose paychecks, families lose health protections and communities lose safety nets. These are real people, doing essential work. They're not mere bargaining chips for political games.

In the past days, Trump has said:
 “We have radical-left lunatics out there, and we just have to beat the hell out of them,” AND “I hate my opponent and I don’t want the best for them.” 
This adds to political violence rhetoric. America needs leaders who seek to heal these dire political divides.
