During the first Trump presidency we asked, will the institutions hold. Now we know, institutions don’t act or think or hold or give in. Only people can. Each of us has choose to honor the values of a democratic nation, or to be the broken link in the chain of history that allowed liberty to die.

It’s funny that judges are trying to issue rulings like someone will obey them. Law. That is so 1788. The hand wringing that we are approaching a constitutional crisis is cute. It’s like worrying about defrosting the windshield after your car was towed, crushed, and sold to China as scrap.

DOGE is our Enabling Act, and we didn’t even bother with something as pointless as legislation. I see people calling out the coup like it’s happening now, but it’s already done and was inevitable once SCOTUS granted absolute immunity. Maybe we’ll get it once dissenters are sent to Guantanamo.

It has been established that criminal violence done in service to our leader will be allowed. The pardons are not about what happened in 2021. They set the stage for events yet to unfold. There are people standing back and standing by, but probably not for long. A private force, unrestrained by law.

So… The current president now has absolute immunity for any action taken as part of his official duties, such as defending the Country from all enemies foreign and domestic. Just kidding. The 20th Amendment provides a process if a president-elect is unavailable for the inauguration. Note that Mr. Trump is not a sitting president. Choosing not to sentence a non-president is misguided. If we can deal with death, surely we could have dealt with a little prison time.

If we keep removing legal consequences because someone holds a prominent political position, won’t political offices become attractors for criminals? I mean, even more than usual? Remember saying, “nobody is above the law?” You can shut up now.

The problem with the left in this country is that we tend to be more internally motivated, guided by our own sensibilities. Thus,we optimize our actions in niche interests, rather than everyone following a single bullhorn. We lose in the battle of subtlety vs. trample. What is our battle cry?

Interesting. I don’t expext Congress to actually attempt to achieve a 2/3 majority vote to remove the insurrection clause of the 14th amendment to allow the President-Elect to legally hold office. But it would be quite a good show if they tried.

Interesting. I don’t expext Congress to actually attempt to achieve a 2/3 majority vote to remove the insurrection clause of the 14th amendment to allow the President-Elect to legally hold office. But it would be quite a good show if they tried.
It seems important that we think about 2026 and 2028. I don’t know what we’re thinking about exacty, but it feels important to have a plan and not get too caught up in daily distractions like a cat trying to catch the little red dots. The best defense is a good offense. I hope we have one.
