Here's my theory: Trump NEVER wanted Matt Gaetz as A.G. That was a "consolation prize" for his loyalty to make it LOOK like Trump cared. Trump knew Gaetz would never get confirmed. He ALWAYS wanted Bondi. Notice he didn't offer any other position w/o confirmation?
