Ok I just gotta say that “Giri/Haji” is the wackiest thing I’ve seen in a long long time…which isn’t to say I’m not enjoying it. But mamma mia!

The Lost: a search for six of six million by @danielmendelsohn.bsky.social has stayed with me for months since I happened across it at the library. #BookSky 📚
Cover of the book The Lost: a search for six of six million by Daniel Mendelsohn. The cover is sepia-toned, with faded-back photos of the author's family arrayed around the edges. The words are in a deeper sepia and look like worn stamps or old letterpress. This one grabbed me by the heart and has not yet let go; I don't ever want it to.

If the Democrats can’t make hay out of this repellent Bill, relentlessly explaining to the people what has been done to them, they don’t deserve to go on existing as a party.

I did an interview with my Mom a few years back for PBS, discussing my book about retracing the Odyssey with my late dad—if you want to get a flavor of mom, this is a fun way!

Since many of you have appreciated the fabulous wit of my mom over the years, I’m sorry to share that she died this morning, aged 94. She was an unforgettable mom, amazing teacher & tireless environmental activist. Her humor, intelligence, beauty & wild sense of fun will be missed.
